Mythical Madness 6/1 For 7.25 Sandown
Charlie Appleby has a second win in as many outings in mind in Thursday’s 7.25 Cobham Handicap at Sandown just like his charge Mythical Madness, who will aim for no less than a repeat of last month’s Windsor walkover in a similar contest to the one Adam Kirby rode to a maiden win for the three-year-old with a powerful final dash.
Kirby will again saddle the Bay Colt which emerged victorious at Windsor in July after switching to find the needed room for a late burst inside the final furlong en route to winning on only a second outing, the identical single-mile, two-furlong distance this Thursday therefore not to be a concern for Appleby’s charge at 6/1 with Paddy Power to continue that form on another good surface.
Prince Of Stars meanwhile is favoured to add its second win in the Colt’s first run since May which ended in success for trainer John Gosden at Chester’s Diamond Maiden Stakes as they scooped the £14,000 prize in the final furlong, the inexperienced three-year-old making up for lost speed in its Bobis win to add to the Gosden stable’s increasing 2014 success stories.
Prince Of Stars will be the mount of William Buick once again who will turn rival to Appleby in Sandown after taking glory aboard the latter’s Bombardment at Kempton on Wednesday, 9/4 with William Hill to add a second victory to the name of Gosden’s young Colt on Thursday night.
Splitting both in the betting stakes at 7/2 with Bet365 is Lady Cecil’s Hoop Of Colour, and the Filly’s record lies on a potential third win in as many outings after placing no lower than second in the four runs on record. Martin Harley takes the reigns of Hoop Of Colour for Cecil on Thursday, the sixth different trainer in as many races that the jockey will have saddled.
