Restless Harry Can Recoup Losses At Newbury
The Betfred ‘Hat Trick Heaven’ Handicap Chase at 2.25 Newbury today looks a competitive contest but gives Restless Harry a great opportunity to change his recent bad luck.
The ten-year-old course and distance winner unseated his jockey Charlie Poste in his last two appearances and if his pilot can stay in the saddle, has an excellent chance of recouping losses. Robin Dickin’s charge was well backed on both occasions and while he still has something to prove over fences, the same can be said of much of todays’ company.
Restless Harry was a decent hurdler, winning five times and running well to finish ninth behind Big Bucks in the 2011 World Hurdle. He looked destined for a good career over the larger obstacles when winning a novice chase at Newbury in December 2012 but hasn’t troubled the judge in nine appearances since.
The biggest danger looks to be Financial Climate who won here last month when Restless Harry was backed down to favourite. He runs off an 8lb higher mark today which could prove decisive against an opponent who was travelling well before unshipping his rider. Bangor winner Railway Dillon remains on a fair mark while the other main market rival Tullyraine goes up 4lb for his defeat at Bangor where he’s something of a course specialist.
