Sevilla vs Real Sociedad preview, betting tips prediction
May 03, 2018
Having not won in nine, Sevilla have disposed of manager Vincenzo Montella. The final straw was defeat at Levante last week. The 2-1 scoreline didn’t fully reflect how poor Sevilla were. But the footage of Levante players dancing around them went viral and spelled out how comfortably ahead they were in terms of quality. Also not a true reflection of what Sevilla are capable of.
In case you had forgotten, their last win came against Manchester United. It shouldn’t have then, either. Negative Jose Mourinho tactics contributed to the downfall of the Red Devils almost as much the daring of the Andalucian side on the night. Newly-installed Joaquín Caparrós will take the reins for the final three games of the campaign. Time enough to impress.
This weekend they take on a Real Sociedad side coming off the back of a thrilling 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao in the Basque derby. While La Real are buccaneering and strong at home, their away record could do with a bit of love. They’ve only picked up one victory in their last five games, a run that includes defeat at bottom-of-the-league Malaga.
