Dubbed the “fourth major”, the Snooker Tour Championship is the focus of the WST this week as eight of the most in-form players battle it out on the baize in Hull.
First held in 2019, there have only been three winners of the Tour Championship – Ronnie O’Sullivan (2019), Stephen Maguire (2020) and Neil Robertson (2021, 2022) – but with none of this trio taking part in the 2023 edition we are guaranteed a new champion inside the Bonus Arena.
Ali Carter and Kyren Wilson are the two taking to the stage in Tuesday’s action, ranked number 4 and number 5 in the field:
Kyren Wilson to beat Ali Carter at 8/11 with bet365
In recent meetings, Kyren Wilson has got Ali Carter’s number.
The Warrior has won the last three meetings against Carter enjoying a 13-7 aggregate scoreline, including a gripping 6-5 semi-final win at the European Masters.
Wilson went on to win that event, his third rankings tournament victory, and has a recent semi-final spot at the Players Championship to underline his form.
Ali Carter’s win at the German Masters sees him qualify for the Tour Championship but recent defeats to Wilson make him our underdog.
Kyren Wilson over 1.5 match centuries at 5/6 with bet365
Wilson has been a century machine over the past few seasons.
The 31-year-old has hit 34 this season, running off of 56 in the 2021-22 season and a monster 74 in 2020-21.
He has also got three career maximum breaks under his belt and a player who is known for such prolific break-building should be backed to comfortably nail two centuries in a race to 10.
Kyren Wilson to win the 1st session 3-1 at 9/4 with bet365
If Wilson is in the mood, then frames can flash by in an instance.
Predicting the correct score in a best-of-19 match is pretty tough going, but a 3-1 lead for the Warrior after the first four frames looks appealing.
9/4 with bet365 is big enough for a small-ish stake as Wilson shows his authority early on in the argument.
