UFC Fight Night – Lawler vs Dos Anjos Betting Tips
UFC Fight Night arrives at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba this weekend as Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos collide in the main event.
At the top of the bill in Canada, former welterweight champion Lawler faces off with previous lightweight title holder Dos Anjos in a potentially brutal encounter.
UFC president Dana White has promised that the winner of this exciting clash will earn the opportunity to take on the reigning welterweight titlist Tyron Woodley next year.
Lawler will enter the octagon on the back of an impressive decision success over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC 214.
Meanwhile, Brazilian fighter Dos Anjos has won back-to-back bouts since moving up to 170lbs.
UFC welterweight title shot at stake
With a title shot up for grabs on Canadian territory, both men will be desperate to prevail in their latest outing and secure a high-profile 2018 meeting with Woodley.
Californian Lawler has opened up as the narrow favourite to prevail for a second time this year, after outpointing ‘Cowboy’ back in July. Paddy Power have the 35-year-old marked at 4/5 to triumph, with a decision win being 10/3.

The front runner has the sure advantage in sheer size and punching power, but Dos Anjos has managed to mix it with the big boys of the division previously.
‘RDA’ was able to hang with Tarec Saffiedine for three rounds and he showed that he is more than capable of using his submission skills against bigger foes like Neil Magny.
Backing the Brazilian to emerge victorious here is available at a best-priced evens with most bookies, while a stoppage success is a more promising 3/1 with Paddy Power.
Size advantage to aid Lawler?
In terms of accuracy, Lawler also looks to have the edge here and he will be pushed on by his desire to gain revenge over Woodley next year, having tasted a first-round stoppage defeat to the champion in July 2016.
The fighter known as ‘Ruthless’ is a favoured 21/10 to gain success here this weekend by knockout, as he aims to set up a rematch with ‘the Chosen One’ in 2018.
With Dos Anjos having only fought at the weight twice so far in his career since moving up divisions, the signs point towards a second consecutive win of the year for Lawler.
The UFC fan favourite is as durable as they come, but if Dos Anjos can avoid the heavy bombs and utilise his ground game during proceedings he may find some success in the octagon.
With that said, the odds are stacked against the Samba star and Lawler should be more than capable of capitalising on his natural size advantage and welterweight experience to come out on top.
UFC Fight Night will take place in the early hours of Sunday December 17 and will be live on BT Sport.
