Villa And Spurs To Cancel Eachother Out
Former Premier League footballer and Sky TV pundit Matt Le Tissier has a football betting tip for Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur, kicking off at 4pm Sunday October 20th.
Aston Villa profited from some nonchalant Manchester City defending to win their last home game 3-2 and although they deserve credit for sticking at it, the same can’t be said of their lifless performance away to Hull. Paul Lambert’s side haven’t been great at Villa Park in recent matches and with no clean sheet registered at home this season, Villa could struggle against Tottenham.
But the visitors will still be reeling from the 0-3 home defeat to West Ham before the international break and will be eager to make amends today which could lead to a tentative approach from Spurs. Andre Villas-Boas’ side haven’t won for a couple of Premier League games now and will be facing a confident Villa team on the back of their Man City triumph and the pair could cancel eachother out today.
Matt Le Tissier Tips: “Spurs have struggled for goals and Villa’s confidence will be high after that City win, so with Tottenham looking short at odds-on in a few places I’d prefer to take the draw at 5/2 with Betvictor.”
Christian Benteke could return for the home side and will almost certainly boost their chances of getting a positive result while Aaron Lennon is in contention to face Villa having recovered from a foot problem. Aston Villa’s current three-match unbeaten run is their longest spell without a Premier League defeat in 2013, but they will be tested by Tottenham today.
