Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Betting Tips and Free Bets

Crystal Palace are in terrific form, while Manchester United have just endured a miserable month, so can the Eagles claim a famous Bank Holiday Monday victory?

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United match preview

Will Crystal Palace’s unbeaten streak continue?

During April, the Oliver Glasner era in South London properly go up-and-running, with Palace enjoying three successive victories, beating Liverpool at Anfield and then both West Ham and Newcastle at home.

Last time out, nine days ago now, the Eagles’ winning streak did come to an end, but they managed to extend the unbeaten run, courtesy of a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage with Fulham; Jeffrey Schlupp’s late rocket salvaging a draw.

All of this has seen Palace reach the often discussed magic 40 point mark, currently 14th, almost guaranteed to end-up between tenth and 15th for an 11th successive season.

Back in September, Joachim Andersen’s spectacular volley saw the Eagles claim a famous 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

So now, can Palace complete a first-ever league-double over Manchester United, thereby claiming three successive home Premier League wins for the first time since October 2022?

Well, the Red Devils appear primed and ready for an upset, given how they’ve been playing in recent weeks.

In their last outing, Erik ten Hag’s team were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at home, ultimately very lucky to take a point against the division’s second-bottom side, despite Antony firing them in front with his first league goal of the campaign.

So, Man United have now won just one of their last six, only beating Sheffield United since 9 March, while they’re winless in four on the road, this dating back to mid-February.

As a result, the Red Devils have sunk down to sixth, very much in danger of finishing below seventh for the first time in 34 years, thereby missing out on Europe entirely.

After this, Man United’s remaining fixtures are Arsenal (H), Newcastle (H) and Brighton (A), all of which could be tricky fixtures, so a catastrophic conclusion to this campaign could be on the cards.

So, will it be a night of celebration for those of a Place persuasion at Selhurst Park?

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Tips

As alluded to throughout this preview, we very much fancy Crystal Palace to pick up a victory here.

The Eagles have won four of their last nine Premier League encounters with the Red Devils, losing only three, and we’re backing the hosts to further improve that already impressive ratio.

All the momentum is with Oliver Glasner’s side, who’ve won their last two home games against West Ham United and Newcastle United, so why not Manchester United?

As for Erik ten Hag’s team, their record on the road this season is pretty dismal, losing nine away games already, winning just ten, these coming against Burnley, Sheffield United, Fulham, Everton, Wigan, Newport, Wolves, Aston Villa, Forest and Luton, which isn’t the most eclectic list you’ll ever see.

In terms of both teams to score, this has been the case in each of Man United’s last eight outings, as well as 15 of their 18 fixtures since early-January.

Meantime, both teams have scored in ten of Crystal Palace’s last 14 matches.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Jean-Philippe Mateta has been one of the most in-form strikers in the Premier League recently, something few would ever have forecasted.

The Frenchman has found the net in each of his last five appearance at Selhurst, scoring seven times during this fixtures, taking his tally to 14 for the campaign, so we’re backing Mateta to extend this streak.
