After 16 weeks of tungsten tussling, we are down to the last four in the 2023 Premier League Darts.

London’s O2 Arena hosts Thursday night’s headline act with two semi-finals and a final making up the race for the crown.

Gerwen Price, Michael Smith, Michael van Gerwen and Jonny Clayton make up the quartet in the capital – let’s take a closer look at their chances:

Gerwyn Price to win the Darts Premier League – 6/4 at bet365*

With four night wins and finishing top of the pile, Gerwyn Price is the narrow favourite to win what would be his maiden Premier League title.

The “Iceman” lost just five quarter-finals across the 16 weeks and boasts the best tournament average at 98.31.

He’s up against his compatriot Jonny Clayton in the semi-final and enjoys a 20-11 lead in the head-to-heads. He is also 5-1 up in 2023 meetings.

Price knows how to get the job done on the big stage and after warming into this season’s competition will see anything but a win as a failure.

Michael Smith to win the Darts Premier League – 12/5 at bet365*

Smith is arguably the form man coming to London.

The reigning world champion and world number one won nights 13, 14 and 15 and his aggressive style is underlined by bagging the most 100+ checkouts across the 16 weeks at 19 successes.

He’s playing a potentially injured MVG in the semi-final and has begun erasing his deficit against the Dutchman in their head-to-heads.

Smith leads 3-2 in the head-to-heads against van Gerwen in 2023 and is averaging more 180s per leg than the 6x Premier League winner.

Smith has transformed into a winner since 2022 and can’t be sniffed at at 12/5.

Michael van Gerwen to win the Darts Premier League – 5/2 at Paddy Power*

There are a couple of question marks above the head of the 6x Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen.

The Dutchman pulled out of his semi-final last week in Aberdeen with a wrist injury and it’s impossible to tell if he is going to be 100% in London.

Van Gerwen won nights 4, 5 and 6 but only reached one final since that impressive early run, so 5/2 looks about right for a man who is far from throwing his best.

But in these longer matches a war of attrition could well suit the experienced MVG, injury permitting.

Jonny Clayton to win the Darts Premier League – 8/1 at Coral*

Clayton is the rank outsider at 8/1 which is a big price considering he won this title back in 2021.

Clayton edged through to the playoffs thanks to Gerwyn Price beating Nathan Aspinall in Aberdeen, but the “Ferret” won’t be friendly on the oche with his fellow Welshman.

Clayton leads the way in the league for his 44.04% checkout percentage and you feel that he is going to have to be up close to this average in order to take two big scalps en route to the trophy.

Clayton won weeks 9 and 10 and takes confidence in the fact he has beat all three of the fellow finalists this season.
