2023 Darts Premier League Big 45/1 Acca – Thursday 2nd March

We’re into week five of the 2023 Darts Premier League and back with a monster Acca for Thursday night in Exeter.

Breaking news: water is wet and Michael van Gerwen wins darts matches.

The “Green Machine” returned to winning ways in Dublin last Thursday scooping night four of the 2023 Premier League Darts, and this week, heads south to Exeter as the league leader.

His ten points are one better than world champion Michael Smith in second, with Gerwyn Price (8) and Nathan Aspinall (7) stating their claim in the playoff spots.

After winning the opening week, Masters champion Chris Dobey has gone L, L, L in his quarter-final efforts, whilst “Snakebite” Wright has gone one better and is yet to get off the mark in the 2023 tournament.

Check out the legs to our ma-hoosive 45/1 Acca for Thursday night’s action:

Michael van Gerwen to win match / Gerwyn Price most 180s at 11/4

MVG flexed his muscles in Dublin last Thursday and underlined why he should never be overlooked in the Premier League.

The Dutchman is a 6x winner of the event and clearly enjoys the week-in-week-out format.

Gerwyn Price has warmed into the 2023 tournament and is showing glimmers of the form that took him to the world title and #1 in the world a couple of years back.

We still fancy the “Green Machine” to scoop the match win, but with MVG tending to move down to the T19s bed when the 60 gets crowded, Price pinching the 180-race boosts our price nicely.

Michael Smith -1.5 handicap vs Nathan Aspinall at 5/6

Nathan Aspinall always performs at a consistent level on the big stage.

The 31-year-old finished runner-up in 2020 and is more than capable of running deep into the playoffs again this season.

But Michael Smith is playing a special, unfiltered version of darts at the moment.

The world champion is knocking on the door of the top of the league and, despite losing four of his last five meetings with Aspinall, should win this race to six with room to spare.

Dimitri van den Bergh vs Chris Dobey – Over 10.5 legs at 11/4

Nothing separates these two players in the league standings and we aren’t expecting much to change in Exeter.

Their head-to-head reads 1-1 which is a pretty small sample size, but both will be targetting each other as a winnable fixture in the quarter-finals.

We’re not going to pick a winner, but out of all the matches this is the best candidate for a last-leg decider (there has been at least one every week of the 2023 Premier League so far).

Peter Wright to beat Jonny Clayton at 4/5

Sorry Jonny, but if Peter Wright is going to get off the mark anytime soon then it looks like it might be against the “Ferret”.

Clayton is only four points off the foot of the table following back-to-back semi-final berths, but “Snakebite” isn’t playing that bad enough to remain pointless after five weeks.

Wright leads their head-to-head 8-6, which isn’t overly convincing, but all runs must come to an end – even losing ones.
