Europa Conference League

The Europa League conference may be Europe’s poorer relative in terms of status compared to the Europa League and Champions League, but it shouldn’t be mocked.

Indeed, we have reached the last eight of the competition, and there are still a few heavyweights left slugging it out. There is also plenty at stake, with the inaugural winners earning a Europa League berth next term.

Leicester take on PSV Eindhoven at the King Power Stadium on Thursday evening, and it should make for fascinating viewing. The Foxes have little left to play for as far as the Premier League is concerned, although they are on course for a top-10 finish. Whereas PSV are locked in a gripping title race with Ajax in the Eredivisie, and that looks set to go right down to the wire.

Freebets is on hand to guide you through the first leg, and we have picked out a few intriguing lines to check out.

Leicester to edge the first leg

Brendan Rodgers’ men could count themselves rather unfortunate that they didn’t get all three points away to Manchester United last weekend. When they are on song, they are dynamic going forward, and they are a joy to watch.

Although PSV have been in free-scoring mode, netting 12 times in their past three matches in all competitions, Leicester can hit them on the counter.

Neither side will want to give too much away early doors, but European nights at home, regardless of the competition, are special. Leicester – who have won their last three Europa League Conference matches at home – will thrive off the energy of the crowd, and they may nick a late winner to take something to the Netherlands next week.

Paddy Power is offering a juicy price of 13/2 for Leicester to win the first leg 1-0.

Kelechi Iheanacho to break the deadlock

While he may have been far from prolific, Kelechi Iheanacho is one of those players who is a bit of a livewire, and he can be a nightmare for defenders.

Perhaps his strike against United at Old Trafford will spark a mini burst of goalscoring form, and he will be looking to play off the shoulder of the last defender, and he could get a few chances come his away, so he will have to be alert.

Interestingly, William Hill is offering enhanced odds in the goalscorer market section. Previously, Iheanacho was priced at 9/2 to open the scoring for Leicester, but if you like an odds boost, he’s now valued at an enticing looking 6/1, which may be worth following up on.

Carlos Vinicius to hit the target

Carlos Vinicius is trying to reinvent himself at PSV Eindhoven. Premier League fans will remember his loan spell at Tottenham, and he will probably be eager to prove some of his detractors wrong.

The Brazilian striker could get his hands on the Eredivisie and the Europa League Conference this season, and it will be interesting duel between him and Wesley Fofana, who is set to be available for the Foxes.

Vinicius is at 12/5 to score at anytime for PSV with BetVictor, which could be tempting.
