Chelsea v Brentford Free Bets, Betting Tips & Predictions

Chelsea have lurched from one disaster to another, and things won’t get any easier when Brentford rolls into town on Wednesday evening.

Since returning to manage the Blues on an interim basis, Frank Lampard has floundered, and he set an unwanted record with four defeats in his first four matches in charge.

There has been speculation circulating that Mauricio Pochettino could make a dramatic return to the Premier League and take over the reins at Stamford Bridge.

In stark contrast, Brentford have continued to go from strength to strength, and they are firmly on course to achieve a top-half finish.

Currently, five points clear of their London rivals, the Bees are winless since a 2-0 victory over Southampton last month, and they will have been disappointed to have dropped two points in a 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa last weekend.

But how will this one unfold? We have pored over the betting markets and handpicked a couple of tips for you to consider.

Brentford to enjoy bragging rights

You never really know what to expect from Chelsea nowadays. Well, strictly speaking, that’s not necessarily true.

Under Graham Potter, they lacked fluidity moving forward, and there are so many cracks at the back.

Things have hardly improved under Lampard, and the Blues lack a natural in and out goalscorer of strikers they have had in years gone by — Diego Costa, Didier Drogba, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to name a few.

They have managed a paltry two goals in their past six matches in all competitions which underlines their fundamental problem.

Brentford, however, will have fond memories of their previous trip to Stamford Bridge when they romped to a 4-1 victory, and tore Chelsea from limb to limb.

Chelsea may be short-priced favourites for this one, but it is hard to back them judged on what I have seen. For my first pick, I am leaning towards the Correct Score section and Brentford to clinch a 2-1 victory. You can locate a juicy price of 13/1 for this to be the case with Paddy Power.

Ivan Toney to score a screamer

It’s perhaps no fluke that two of the Premier League’s top three scorers this term are English.

Currently, occupying third spot on that list with 19 to his name is Ivan Toney.

He is a nightmare for defenders to face and he is lethal inside the box. Predominantly, his goals have come off his right peg (around 70%), and he has also notched up four assists this term.

You wonder what kind of plan Chelsea have to thwart him. However, keeping Toney quiet is easier said than done.

I like a good special, and I think Toney could score a screamer. William Hill has obliged with a bold 25/1 price for him to score outside the penalty area.
