Leicester vs Norwich Match Preview, Predictions & Free Bets

A quickfire return to Championship action on Monday as Leicester play host to Norwich at the King Power.

Foxes Versus Canaries

While hosts Leicester find themselves out of the automatic promotion places before Easter Monday’s fixture gets underway.

Three Horse Race

At the start of the year it looked as if the race for the Championship was nothing more than a foregone conclusion. Leicester racing off into the distance as they were the fastest thoroughbred in the second tier.

A thoroughbred that has now turned lame at the worst time of the season and with the King Power Stadium outfit having picked up just four points from the last 18 on offer, it is form that resembles relegation rather promotion.

Not only is it the third-worst form in the division (last six matches) but it is form that has seen Enzo Maresca’s men knocked off top spot. Worse than that, the Foxes do not even find themselves in the top two.

Automatic promotion is still in their hands but there is work to be done where before there was no work at all and after losing 1-0 at Bristol City on Friday, both Ipswich and Leeds have moved past the club that won the Premier League eight years ago.

As we go into the Monday round of fixtures, Leicester find themselves in third. Two points behind new pacesetters Ipswich and a single point behind Leeds – a team that they lost to only a few weeks ago.

That is the tale of the tape at the time of writing, but automatic promotion is still in the Foxes’ hands and with them possessing a game in hand over the top two, the quest to be the best in the Championship is far from over.

A quest that continues at the start of the week as Norwich travel to the East Midlands in rather fine form. It is now three successive wins for David Wagner’s men and as a consequence, the Canaries are currently singing in the playoff places.

The third of those three wins came at the expense of Plymouth on Friday and after going behind to an early Morgan Whittaker goal, a Josh Sargent equaliser just after the break and an own goal by Ashley Phillips, gave victory to the Carrow Road outfit on home soil.

Victory that keeps the margin between themselves and Coventry in seventh at four points and although the Sky Blues do have the distraction of the FA Cup semi-finals on their mind, they do also have a game in hand on the team they are trying to push out of the playoff places.

But now it is time for the first of my two tips and although Leicester have a point to prove, their inability to win points is what detracts me from backing them. With that said, I can see Norwich being halted at the same time and therefore, I will back the draw at odds of 3/1.

In addition to this, I have liked the look of Josh Sargent in recent weeks and with the 24-year-old having already scored 14 league goals this season, I am going to tip him to break the deadlock on Monday. An outcome that pays out a rather favourable price of 17/2.
