Latest Premier League Betting Tips
The Premier League weekend spans across four days this coming weekend, but it's the games on Saturday and Sunday that we focus on here.
Aston Villa v Fulham
- Aston Villa to Win & Under 2.5 Goals
A massive game in the race for Europe, at the time of writing, Villa sit in 7th and Fulham are in 8th, so while there's a few teams out there with nothing to play for, these are not two of them.
I think fans of both would agree that we're starting to see a decline in form though, perhaps the tough season is beginning to take its toll, especially for Villa, having played in the Champions League.
It's Villa I'm going to side with here, to win this one. While they've lost their last two, and not played too well, at least they've remained consistent at home.
A 4-1 win over Newcastle, 3-2 win over PSG and 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest have come in their last three home games, all very strong results, and overall, they've won their last six at home in all competitions.
Fulham, strong all season, have lost four of the last six in all competitions, and struggled to get past the already relegated Southampton last weekend, needing a late goal to win it.
To boost the odds, both sides will want to do all they can to avoid defeat here, which I think will cause Fulham especially to play a little more conservative. With both lacking a little of their earlier zip, I am combining Aston Villa to win with under 2.5 goals.
Brighton v Newcastle
- Newcastle to Win & BTTS
Brighton's hopes of European football have dramatically faded in the past few weeks. Struggling for form, I went against them last week, but a last minute goal got them the win over struggling West Ham.
I am still not impressed by them, they've really taken a downward turn, and I think it opens up a good opportunity here for Newcastle to continue their top four push.
The Magpies have had the odd blip, but are playing well otherwise, winning seven of their last eight in all competitions. Recent wins in that run have been 3-0 v Ipswich, 5-0 v Crystal Palace, 4-1 v Manchester United and 3-0 v Leicester, it's been convincing.
That gives me the belief that Newcastle can win this, with Brighton struggling for form. Prior to beating West Ham (just), The Seagulls had failed to win any of their last six games, that win didn't do enough to convince me a change is coming anytime soon.
But what Brighton can do, is score, even when they're not playing well. Eight goals in their last four games, despite not being at their best, and only winning one of them, is good enough for me to think they can get on the scoresheet here.
Couple those two together, the pick is Newcastle to win and both teams to score in the game.
West Ham v Tottenham
- West Ham to Win
West Ham have not won any of their last seven games, so it may be a surprise to see them tipped to win here, but they're playing Tottenham after all.
I don't think the form guide is giving the full West Ham picture right now. Pushing Brighton hard last week, the same with Liverpool two weeks ago, they've picked up points against Bournemouth, Everton and Southampton, things are not great yes, but not as bad as no win in seven suggests.
This Sunday's clash gives them the perfect set up to get a win on the board. A home game, against a rival, means they should be up for this, despite having nothing to play for.
Spurs are still in the Europa League, playing on Thursday night, so I'm expecting plenty of changes for this one. They're struggling badly for form, completely rolled over for Liverpool last weekend, and the Europa League is a get out of jail card for both players and management, in my opinion.
Their second leg in Europe comes next week, a quick turnaround, so anyone of importance will get either the day off on Sunday, or limited minutes, further opening the door for a West Ham win.
I think the odds against on offer for West Ham to take this is more than fair, they're my pick in this one.
Chelsea v Liverpool
- Chelsea to Win
What kind of Liverpool team we see here, and until the end of the season, is anyone's guess, but mine is that it won't be anywhere near a full strength one.
On the beach, still in party mode, and with no competitions left to play for, Liverpool can cruise towards the end of the season and do what they like with their selection.
They did take a tip before winning the league, and looked tired, which makes me think they'll rest a few here, especially being away from home. I also think Arne Slot would like the chance to assess more fringe players and youngsters, ahead of trying to defend the title next season.
Chelsea do have something to play for. 5th in the standings, which is good enough for the Champions League this season, though they could drop out and be 6th by the time this game kicks off.
Just two points off Newcastle in 3rd at the time of writing, they've also reason to look up, and better their current position too.
A key moment of the season for Chelsea, I reckon they'll have a stronger team out, and want this a lot more than Liverpool, so I'll back The Blues to take three points.

Premier League Outright Tips
It’s the start of a new Premier League season, and as usual a summer of transfer activity and international football has fans dreaming of going one step further in the upcoming season.
One of our Premier League tipsters, Will Jackson, is here to provide his pre-season tips across a number of outright markets, including his pick to lift the title in May, a relegation treble and more. Pre-season predictions are all part of the fun, so be prepared for some picks that could look silly come December and some longshots that could be worth a cheeky low-stakes approach....
Arsenal to win the Premier League - 15/8 with bet365
Okay, to start off with I’m not sticking my neck out there that much with this one, but I do fancy Arsenal to finally take that next step this season. They have threatened Manchester City for the past two seasons but do appear to be getting stronger and stronger, and City on the other hand....I’m not convinced they have strengthened this season.
There are rumours Kevin De Bruyne could be on his way out, Julian Alvarez is set to leave at the time of writing, there have been no major incoming and Pep Guardiola is likely to leave at the end of the season. This is all with the threat of Premier League sanctions hanging over their heads and could can actually find City at shorter odds to get relegated than the likes of Brighton and West Ham, with some bookies thanks to the threat of a potential points deduction.
Arsenal are clearly the time waiting to capitalise on any slip-ups, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them make one more major signing after Riccardo Calafiori between now and September. He is not to everyone’s taste but Mikel Arteta has done a superb job at the Emirates - though I still think they need to guarantee more goals from Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
Nottingham Forest to be relegated - 11/4 with BetVictor
Again, this isn’t a huge leap to say Nottingham Forest are facing the drop, but I have been surprised to see how many people are suggesting the promoted three will go straight back down this year. If Leicester are deducted points as expected, then they would appear certainties (I would have tipped for them to be bottom on Christmas Day but there is just no value in it), while I’m not convinced Ipswich will be able to hack it next year.
Yes they have done remarkably to achieve back-to-back promotions, but they did show signs of cracking at times last year and had a pretty ropey defence. There is a chance they could start positively but I expect that to catch up with them and the second half of the season could be a struggle similar to how Luton went last year, and I think Forest will join them.
I haven’t been impressed with Nottingham Forest for some time, and expected more of an uplift in performance when Nuno Espirito Santo took charge last year. They have done really well so far to keep hold of Morgan Gibbs-White - let’s see if that’s still the case in a few weeks time - but I don’t see much quality in that squad. It will be interesting to see how Elliot Anderson fits in after a surprisingly big-money move from Newcastle, no pressure, but I can’t see the goals in the squad and think they will be dragged closer and closer to the bottom three through the season.
Enzo Maresca the first manager to be sacked - 16/1 with Paddy Power
Sorry, I just don’t see this one. I could be made to look a fool with this and Maresca could get the best out of some talented players at Chelsea, but it’s just a bit of a madhouse down at Stamford Bridge these days. Their pre-season results have not been impressive and Maresca is already making noises that sound suspiciously like excuses.
Even despite leading Leicester immediately back to the Premier League in his first season as a manager in English football, Maresca attracted a fair amount of criticism from his own fans and I really think the same thing could happen here. If the wins don’t come easily, the style of play could get on the nerves of Blues fans and we already know that Todd Boehly isn’t afraid to make the call.
Mauricio Pochettino was flattered massively last season by an incredible run of form from Cole Palmer and while I think he is a really talented player, I would be amazed if his output is anywhere near the same level this season (that’s a tip for you, FPL fans). A fit-Christopher Nkunku could be the tonic to that, but I’m also amazed Chelsea are willing to sell Conor Gallagher, someone who held things together and emerged as a leader last season. I’d be amazed if Maresca finishes the season in charge, and I think things could get pretty toxic for a club that is rapidly losing its identity. This could be the next step in that direction.
