Premier League: Arsenal v Leicester Preview and Betting Tips

Can Arsenal back up their impressive start?

The feel-good factor is back at the Emirates, and Arsenal will relish the chance to get stuck into Leicester on Saturday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s men laid down a marker in their opening game of the season as they produced an impeccable display in their 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Gabriel Martinelli etched his name into the history books by becoming the first Brazilian to score the first goal of a new Premier League campaign.

However, in stark contrast, Leicester have been strangely dormant in the summer window as they have yet to spend a single penny, and they recently bid farewell to shot-stopper Kasper Schmeichel.

Brendan Rodgers will have more questions than answers though after his side looked to be on course for three points against Brentford last Sunday before they inexplicably let a two-goal lead slip.

But how will things unfold in north London? Ahead of kick-off, we have delved into the markets and picked out a couple of juicy tips to line up your betting slip.

Arsenal to win at a canter

Against Palace, Arsenal seized the initiative early on and they dictated the tempo. More importantly, at the back, they looked solid when they were tested, and William Saliba turned in an excellent display on his Premier League debut.

Of course, we all know how dangerous Leicester can be on the counter especially when Jamie Vardy is in full throttle. The Foxes will need to be defensively disciplined, but it’s hard to see how they will keep the Gunners at bay.

The fixture list hasn’t been kind to Leicester, who take on Chelsea and Manchester United before August is out, and they are likely to leave the Emirates empty-handed.

Arsenal have fared well against Leicester, winning each of their past three fixtures, conceding just once in that period.

With their tails up, the Gunners could win at a canter, so if you like the Correct Score market, Paddy Power is serving a price of 10/1 for Arsenal to claim a 3-0 victory which doesn’t seem so fanciful.

Gabriel Jesus to make telling contribution

Arsenal have been calling out for a world-class striker having offloaded Alexandre Lacazette, and they may have found one in Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian talisman looked sharp against Palace, and although he didn’t get on the scoresheet, he was tireless with his work-rate and he caused problems.

Jesus should be targeting double figures for this season, and Leicester is the sort of the game that will throw up plenty of chances.

The goalscorer market usually provides plenty of value, and if you fancy Jesus to score Arsenal’s first and last goal of the game, then he’s available at an intriguing 9/1 with William Hill.
