Check out our greyhound tips for Thursday below, as we go to Kinsley in the afternoon, followed by a trip to Towcester for the first round of the Greyhound Derby.
Evening Greyhound Tips
The Greyhound Derby begins this evening with the first night of round one action, and we've got some great races in store.
While all eyes will be on some of the outright market leaders, they're very short for the heats, so I'm looking elsewhere for my three picks on the night.
Starting in the very first heat, I like Droopys Bookem from the one box in the opening 6:35pm. This looks a two dog race, with Jaytee Craze the main danger, but he's got a tough draw in three, as I think Icemans Girl will move onto him coming out of the boxes.
Salacres Tipster is slow out of the blocks in two, which I'm hoping leaves Droopys Bookem clear to grab the rail and be safe from any trouble between those on the outside of him.
In the following heat at 6:51pm, I like Tiffield Tarquin as the solo wide seed in this race, with the added bonus of having no dog coming out of the five box.
This should be a really good race, but I see nothing but trouble in the early stages, with the make up of the draw. Both the dogs in 1 & 2 are likely to move off a little, while three should go inside a little, and to make matters even worse, the dog in 4 looks to be a true railer.
Get out nicely, stay wide, and with that, we should be in business.
Two hours later, I'm hoping it's worth sticking around for the last of my selections, with Val Tashadelek the pick in trap one of the 8:57pm.
Running in the maiden derby here has given him a bit of racing on the track, which should really help him against some of these. His best performance from the three races in that competition was his semi final win where he was drawn one, which is where he's boxed tonight.
I think Romeo Tomcat is the best dog in the race, but coming here on the back of one trial, after going all the way to the Gymcrack final at Sheffield, he's likely to be better for the run and grow into the competition, where as I think ours will be raring to go from the off.
Afternoon Greyhound Tips
We go to Kinsley for one pick from the afternoon action, where I like the chances of Swift Qay to pick up a win in the 3:13pm.
A really strong performer in A4 grade, he's won four times in this grade, all in the last three months. While he's probably no better than this grade, I do think he's been handed a nice make up here, in what looks a relatively weak A4 on paper.
Aided by a slow starter in five, I think he can grab the wide pitch all by himself, and hopefully his all-round pace is enough to get him home.

With just six runners in each race, each way betting on greyhounds is limited to just the first and second dogs home, and for that reason, it is not very popular and the win market is by far bigger.
When it comes to greyhound racing, for those looking to find an alternative to the win market, forecasts and tricasts are the bets that offer that. These may be a little tougher to land and complex for new customers, but offer the chance to win bigger for a small deposit stake.
If you are looking at a forecast, the goal is to pick out the dog that wins the race and the dog that finishes second. You can do this with one single win bet, known as a straight forecast, where you need to get the order correct, or as two bets, a reverse forecast, where you back the two dogs to finish first and second in any order.
The same can be done with a tricast, but this time around, it’s tougher because you are trying to predict the first, second and third. A straight tricast is one bet, where you predict the first, second and third in the correct order, or alternatively, a combination tricast can be placed.
This is six bets and covers every possible combination of the first three home in different orders, so it doesn’t matter which of your three dogs comes in the positions as long as they are the first three home.
