Plenty of NFL action throughout the day but it is the late slate of games that grabs my attention when it comes to touchdown scorers.
Three games, but a player I like in each one, all of which combine for our 11/1 touchdown scorer treble, which kicks off at 9:05pm on Sunday night.
- Jeff Wilson Jr (49ers @ Panthers)
- Marquise Brown (Cardinals v Eagles)
- Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys @ Rams)
Jeff Wilson Jr - 49ers
We kick off with San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. A slow start in week one, he’s gone from strength to strength since that, and got his first touchdown of the year last weekend. I think this is going to be a very run-heavy game, from both teams, and that is going to put the ball in Wilson Jr’s hands a lot over the course of the game.
He should have chances to shine near the goal line, and add a touchdown to the one he had last weekend, so he’s the first in my treble.
Marquise Brown - Cardinals
Injuries and suspensions have really hampered the Arizona Cardinals so far, but one player who has been there for them, and performing well, is wide receiver Marquise Brown. A touchdown last weekend, and one in the first week of the season, has given him two so far, and before others return, he’s a great chance to get another on the board this Sunday.
He’s had double figure targets in the past three weeks now, clearly someone who has a great relationship with Kyler Murray. We’ll go with Brown to follow up his score from last weekend with another.
Ezekiel Elliott - Cowboys
The bet is rounded off by Ezekiel Elliott, running back from the Dallas Cowboys, a team that will continue to run the football a lot, until Dak Prescott is back in the line up. Elliott is the one seeing most touches so far, and also the better goal line option, when the team are close in.
For those two reasons, he’s the one I’m choosing from the backfield of Dallas. Elliott has had 15+ carries in the last three games, without Prescott, and has been targeted in the air too. The Rams have conceded 24, 27 and 31 in three of their four games so far, as defensive struggles continue, and I think that’s perfect for Elliott to take advantage of.
