Ollie Watkins Premier League top scorer odds & more betting tips revealed after record matched

The odds on Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins to be the Premier League’s top goalscorer this season have shortened in the wake of his latest outing.

Ollie Watkin’s form has taken a dramatic upturn under the guidance of Unai Emery and after he netted in the 2-0 win over Arsenal at the weekend, is now 6/1 to finish 2023/24 as the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

Ollie Watkins matches Aston Villa record

After scoring in the win over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Sunday, it was revealed that Watkins’s 19 Premier League goals this season is the joint-most by an Aston Villa player in a campaign in the competition (level with Christian Benteke in 2012-13).

Elsewhere, Watkins has scored 26 goals for Aston Villa in all competitions this season, which is the most by a player for the Midlands outfit in a Premier League season, overtaking the previous record held by Dwight Yorke (25 in 1995-96).

It is not just in front of goal where Watkins has shone this season, though. The 28-year-old has also provided 10 assists in the English top flight this term.

No player has provided more assists in the division, with Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier and Brighton’s Pascal Gross also notching 10. Back Watkins to have the most assists in the Premier League this season at 7/1.
