Everton are now mathematically safe from Premier League relegation, but it’s now or never for Luton Town as they battle for survival.

With just three games to go, Luton Town remain in the relegation zone, but all hope is not lost, far from it in fact, given that victory in this Friday night fixture would see them climb out of the bottom three.
The concern for the Hatters is that they come into this one following three successive defeats, hammered by both Manchester City and then Brentford, before last weekend’s narrow 2-1 defeat at Molineux against Wolves.
Back on 6 April, Carlton Morris’ late goal saw Luton snatch victory against Bournemouth, but they’ve been unable to build on that at all, with this is actually their sole win in 14 matches, dating back to January.
So, Rob Edwards’ side sit 18th, a point above resurgent Burnley, but more importantly just a point adrift Nottingham Forest and safety.
After this, Luton’s remaining fixtures are West Ham (A) and Fulham (H), so there are certainly points up for grabs against teams fighting for very little, but the Hatters need to win games, starting here.
Everton now also fall into the category of a side with nothing to play for, following an historic week that has secured their survival, ensuring a 71st successive season in the top-flight.
Sean Dyche’s side won three home games in seven days, all without conceding, beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 and then both Liverpool and Brentford 1-0, with Idrissa Gana Gueye the only scorer on Saturday.
The mid-week win over Liverpool was the Blues’ first Merseyside derby victory at home for 14 years, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on target in one of the most famous nights Goodison has seen for a good long while.
Having also beaten Burnley earlier in April, the Toffees have won four consecutive home league matches within the same season for the first time since May 2019, finishing eighth under Marco Silva back then.
So, despite having eight points deducted, without which they’d be comfortably mid-table, Everton will stay up, meaning their final season at Goodison will feature Premier League football.
If Luton are going to be one of those visiting Merseyside next season, one feels this is must win for the Hatters at Kenilworth Road.

Despite their terrible form, we are backing Luton Town to win this one, giving how priceless a victory would be for them while, having now achieved their target, we can see Everton’s standards slipping, even if only a tad.
The Hatters have already beaten the Toffees not once but twice this season, leaving Goodison 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture in September and then again in the FA Cup back in January.
Since the former, four of the five Premier League victories Luton have enjoyed have come at Kenilworth Road, a tally we’re forecasting they’ll add to.
Meantime, Sean Dyche’s team are without an away league win since 16 December, losing six of their last nine on the road, the most-recent of which was that 6-0 thumping at Stamford Bridge, only the ninth time the Blues have lost a top-flight fixture by six-clear goals and only the second time since 1963.
Both teams have scored in six of the last ten encounters between these two clubs, including both so far this season, a trend we’re expecting will continue in, what should be, an entertaining watch for the neutral tuning in.
Luton’s league matches have often been chaotic, with their last 23 witnessing 93 goals, an average of 4.04 per 90, with both teams scoring in 20 of them, while this has been the case in 83% of their fixtures across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Everton’s 12 Premier League away games since Remembrance Day have produced 31 goals, with both teams scoring in five of them.
