A former jockey with endless humorous stories and escapades, he once beat King Charles III whilst racing at Plumpton.

In an exclusive interview with Freebets.com in March 2025, Tommo revealed that speaking to King at Ascot in 2024, he has forgiven him: "Sorry, Sir. I beat you all those years ago.' He [King Charles III] said, 'don't worry. I forgave you.'
