CopyBet was established in 2016, but it has tried to shake up the status quo, with various concepts since launching. CopyBet UK has the hallmarks of a trading platform, and this site mirrors aspects of other notorious operators such as Spreadex and Betfair.

In 2023, CopyBet expanded into Ireland, but it has struck up some significant partnerships. For example, in November 2024, CopyBet became the title sponsor for a weekend event at Ascot, putting their name to three races, and it has made significant headway in the horse racing scene.

However, CopyBet UK, which describes itself as "more than a sportsbook", has made some coups. The site has recruited brand ambassadors in horse racing and football, most notably former Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given, whose on-field experience can provide useful insights for bettors assembling football bets.

CopyBet, which is a UKGC-licensed operation, is QPR's official betting partner, and it is the club's front shirt sponsor. The agreement runs until the end of the 2025/26 season, so there will be plenty of presence in and around the Hoops' home ground, Loftus Road.

In the following sections, I will untangle the desktop and copybet app elements of the operation, uncovering key strengths, as well as discussing common payment methods and attitudes to responsible gambling.

User Experience - My Personal View

CopyBet might not be the most extroverted site design-wise, which you might expect of BetMGM, but the desktop product is uncomplicated. Nevertheless, I found the sign-up process to be quite seamless. I was allowed to register a CopyBet account through my Google or Apple account which expedited things a little bit, so less onerous than other betting sites.

Naturally, the automated part of the CopyBet site brought the desktop version to life. Apart from mirroring wagers supplied by other tipsters, you can see how their betting tips fared in the running leaderboard detailing the champion and best performers.

I found this useful for tracking performance and ascertaining the levels I needed to be at to emulate them.

Yes, the CopyBet software does the legwork, and it was easy to transfer money between the various systems. Moreover, I could assess the levels of risk with certain bets, and adjust my stakes accordingly which is missing from other sites, such as bet365 and Paddy Power.

The CopyBet team has worked hard to satisfy the demands of its bettors. I could bookmark potential bets through the Favourites feature, and in the Bet Builders section, I noticed Early Payouts for Premier League matches. This is celebrated at bet365 where you can cash out early if your team goes 2-0 up at any point during a game.

I was also impressed with the betting tips blog. Whatever the league or sport, there will be useful nuggets of information provided and compared to other reputable betting platforms, such as BetVictor, CopyBet is more up-to-date, so it never misses a beat.

Although CopyBet provides decent cross-platform performance, there are a few things that it needs to improve on with the app. When comparing to the best betting apps, I'm thinking about how to make it easier to switch between light and dark modes and optimising performance to reduce lagging.

Mobile Betting Experience

Normally, the desktop betting site can often pale into comparison with the app version, but I do think the desktop version is better here. Let's start with the good news. The iOS CopyBet UK app averaged 4.2 stars out of 5 from roughly 2,000 ratings, far surpassing the Android version.

As an iOS user, that was pleasing. But when I dug deeper, I found the app a bit clunky. The content wasn't as well signposted, and some areas were sparse with lots of blank spaces. I also found there to be Instagram-style reels to showcase bonuses, but this criticism isn't something that can be levelled at, say Betway or Betfred, which have slick apps.

That said, many of the features replicated the desktop version. The in-play area of the CopyBet app was vibrant with tons of markets plugged for any given event. For the Italian Open tennis betting encounter between Tommy Paul and Thomas Mahac (pictured below), there was the regular gamut of pre-match markets such as Total Games and Total Tiebreaks. While there are computerised graphics to detail match flashpoints, there weren't many stats or even fast markets found at other sites, such as Livescore Bet to spice things up which was slightly disappointing.

Cash Out is available, and over 18,000 events are available daily for in-play betting. However, you won't find live streaming, which might dissuade some from registering a CopyBet account. Most bookmakers that are held in high regard will have some form of streaming. For example, bet365 is one of the most agile live streaming sites out there, and this includes replays for horse racing meets, so CopyBet ought to take note.

CopyBet Betting Markets & Odds

This is a core part of my CopyBet review. The arrangement of sporting disciplines could have been neater, like you would find at bet365, which is presented A-Z in a drop-down menu. Nevertheless, I found around 30 different sports to wager on. Every mainstream sport, such as football and tennis, through to niche ones such as alpine skiing and handball is available, so that's a big tick in my box. I could also tuck into TV specials like I would at Ladbrokes or William Hill. However, on last view, they only showed odds for Britain's Got Talent, and Eurovision betting was missing which was an oversight.

That said, I couldn't fault CopyBet for basketball lines. For the NBA playoffs, there was a heap of player props for Boston Celtics vs New York Knicks, mainly player point totals (players to score 20 points or more, etc), so I wasn't stuck for choice!

CopyBet leaves no stone unturned with the types of markets posted. Yes, there are ample bet builders, so you can compile selections involving goals, corners, and flashpoints, such as whether BTTS will score in the first 15 minutes. I've no doubt this will resonate with users.

But that's not all. CopyBet offers BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) for horse racing. This is great if you want to scoop a bigger profit as you will be paid out on the SP (Starting Price) rather than the EP (Early Price) if it is bigger. For horse racing, more generally speaking, extra places are paid out, and it compares favourably with the Betfred horse racing product. Across selected races at CopyBet, you can be paid out on five places instead of four, which you shouldn't turn your nose up at.

Acca boosters and profit boosts are part of the CopyBet package. With the profit boosts, you can increase the payout by up to 15% each day, which is enticing, but at William Hill, you can get up to a 25% boost on accas, so worth bearing in mind. However, I thought the CopyBet betting odds were average, and there was nothing spectacular about them. Yes, you can find some enhanced odds, but compared to betting exchange sites such as Betfair, the prices available weren't as competitive, so that is something that should be targeted.

I believe CopyBet needs a bit more pizzazz design-wise to give it the wow factor.

Customer Service at CopyBet Sports

CopyBet isn't the most extensive for customer support. I used the live chat facility which was monitored by a bot. I discovered they were more interested in pointing me to the FAQs area rather than answering my query, which was mildly frustrating.

There is an email address, although responses were a bit slower than other sites, however, CopyBet makes up for it with a detailed FAQs area, and they are well represented on social media. CopyBet has a presence on X, Facebook, and Instagram, so check these platforms out for further information.

Responsible Gambling at CopyBet

CopyBet takes responsible gambling very seriously, and we've highlighted some of the measures adopted:

Deposit Limits

Players can set a limit on how much they wager each day, week, or month. Once limits are imposed, they can't be increased for the next seven days.

Time-Out

Those who want to take a short break can do so, and this ranges from 24 hours to six weeks. During this time, players won't be able to sign into their Copybet account or receive emails.

Reality Checks

You can keep track of your betting sessions by setting a reality check. When a specified time period has passed, players will get a reminder, so they can continue betting or log out as necessary.

Self Assessment

If you are worried about your gambling habits, you can take a short test to monitor the situation and change things accordingly to get your betting under control.

Help and Support

Players can receive impartial advice if struggling with gambling addiction, and CopyBet has teamed up with the following organisations:

  • GamCare
  • GamSTOP
  • Gordon Moody
  • BeGambleAware

Licensing & Security

As a UKGC-licensed operator, CopyBet adheres to the latest security protocols and transactions are encrypted to protect players. This betting site is transparent, and it has an extensive Terms and Conditions section to outline its policies.

My Verdict

Overall, CopyBet has plenty of positives, such as enhanced odds and BOG. That said, it's not the most visually attractive site, and the CopyBet betting app has some limitations, most notably in terms of technical details.

Overlooking live streaming was a big miss, as was a lack of CopyBet promotions. While there are areas that need ironing out, this site should appeal to seasoned bettors after a sophisticated betting experience. I feel this site has the potential to take off in the future.
