It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
4:30pm Salisbury - Felicitas
The classic generation have won half of the last ten renewals of the listed 10f Upavon Fillies' Stakes but not since 2022. I believe today's renewal lies between the three-year-olds FELICITAS and Miss Scott, with preference for the former, who has been off the track for the best part of two months since a below par run in the French Oaks at Chantilly in June.
Her subsequent absence from the track suggests something was found to be amiss, and her previous second to subsequent Oaks runner-up Legacy Link in the Musidora is, arguably, the best form on offer. She looked to be outstayed on the Knavesmire over that extended ten-furlong trip, but had previously won at the trip at Sandown, and she gets the vote for Ed Walker, who has saddled nine winners from forty-one runners in the last fortnight. Only two firms have prices at the time of writing, and their 6/4 quote looks a bit shy of what I was expecting.
Miss Scott has won two of her three starts but looks short enough in the betting (3/1), given it was, arguably, a match that she won at Newbury last time. She is open to further improvement, but needs to.
On Message was slightly disappointing at York last time, having run well for a long way in the Oaks before her stamina gave way. Of the older horses, Alla Stella has finished second in two similar contests in France of late, but she looks exposed, and I would be disappointed if she were good enough to take this.
Recommendation: Felicitas - 13/8 with bet365
4:15pm Beverley - Sunny Orange
Tim Easterby saddles a couple in the 10f handicap; they are drawn one and two, and they finished first and second over course and distance when Kitsune Power beat SUNNY ORANGE here last month. The latter is taken to reverse the form on just 1lb better terms.
Kitsune Power is well treated on his best form and lost nothing in defeat at Redcar last time behind the progressive Lucky Hero, who is now rated 10lbs higher in the weights. Sunny Orange was having his first start at 10f when beaten half a length by his stablemate, but has raced twice more at the trip subsequently and has been beaten half a length in both of those too!!
A four-time course winner, Sunny Orange has been amateur ridden in his last two runs, but Duran Fentiman – who has been in the saddle for all four course wins – returns to the plate today. There is unlikely to be much between the pair again, but Sunny Orange edges it.
Dr Rio was slowly away when behind the Easterby pair last month, but he is very much in the veteran stage now. I would be surprised if he reversed the form.

8:30pm Kempton - Kokbastau (Nap)
A cracking card at Kempton this evening and the 0-90 12f handicap for three-year-old+ is a belter. Dust Cover failed to stay 2m here last time, but will relish the drop back in trip. A winner of three of his seven all-weather starts – runner up twice too – he may be overlooked in the market, and I will save if he is a double-figure price.
I am still kicking myself for not backing the three-year-old KOKBASTAU (Nap) when he won a Southwell Novice over this evening's trip, and he makes his handicap debut from a mark of eighty-eight for Roger Varian.
With Ray Dawson sidelined till Friday, Cieren Fallon takes over in the plate, and the classic generation get a 10lbs weight-for-age allowance from their elders. He is not exactly thrown in from an opening mark of 88, but he is open to further improvement after just three career starts. His draw in stall seven is fair, but I would not want him to get too far back against these experienced handicappers.
Classical Allusion chased home Constitution Hill over course and distance back in March before failing to stay two miles at Newbury. He again disappointed at Ascot when last seen in May and has been off the track for over three months. He is well drawn in stall one, and I wonder if he will try to make all for Andrew Balding.
