Horse Racing Lucky 15 Tips for Today
Perhaps the most popular horse racing multiple bet, the Lucky 15 is a fan favourite amongst punters. Here, we have our best Lucky 15 tips today.
Today’s Lucky 15 Tips - Cork, December 8
We head to the meeting at Cork on Sunday for our Lucky 15 tips.
What Are Our Lucky 15 Tips?
Our Lucky 15 tips for today are four horses we select from the daily race meetings. Depending on the odds, these four horses combine to create a multiple bet. The idea of a Lucky 15 is to find reasonably priced selections to make a profit even with just one or two winners on the bet.
For this reason, our daily Lucky 15 tips for today will usually be a fair price, and more often than not, we will go against the favourite in races or back the favourite if the odds on offer are big enough. Of course, by aiming for horses at a good price, should all four win, then the returns on offer, even for small stakes, will be very big.
This is the main reason people look for Lucky 15 tips for today - it’s a bet that can provide a huge win for relatively small stakes.
We’ve also found that many fans of our tipsters decide to create their own multiple bets using their best tips.
You can do this by using Charlie McCann’s and Alan Kelly’s horse racing tips and best bets and creating your own Lucky 15.

What is a Lucky 15 Bet?
Our regular free horse racing tips usually focus on singles, but we wanted to bring something a little different here, so the bets offered on this page will always be a Lucky 15.
The Lucky 15 is one of the most popular multiple bets placed on horse racing, one that has been around for decades, long before internet betting was available. The name of this bet gives a clue as to how many bets there are in it, 15 in total, which we will list for you below.
It is a full coverage bet, meaning you have every bet covered within the multiple. So, across your four horses, if you land one winner, you will see a return, and the more horses that win, the more winning bets you have and the bigger your returns will be.
What Bets Are in a Lucky 15?
As mentioned, there are four selections and 15 bets in a Lucky 15, which are detailed below:
- Four single bets on each runner
- Six doubles, covering every possible combination of two winners
- Four trebles covering every possible combination of three winners
- One four fold accumulator
Calculating your total stake for a Lucky 15 bet is straightforward. For instance, if you placed a Lucky 15 bet with a £1 unit stake, your total stake for the bet would be £15.

What Other Types of Lucky Bets Are There?
There are three types of ‘Lucky’ bets:
- Lucky 15 - Four horse selections and 15 bets
- Lucky 31 - Five horse selections and 31 bets
- Lucky 63 - Six horse selections and 63 bets
Lucky 15 or a Yankee - Which is Better?
A Yankee bet is similar to a Lucky 15, involving four selections.
However, a Yankee covers fewer permutations, excluding the four singles in a Lucky 15. This results in 11 bets instead of 15 - comprising six doubles, four trebles, and one four fold accumulator.
A Yankee is often preferable for selections at shorter odds, for example, if you’re betting on four odds-on Royal Ascot selections at the bookmakers.
A Lucky 15 bet is better for selections at larger odds, as they include single bets that can yield a profit even if only one of your horses wins.
This makes them advantageous when you don’t want to miss out on potential returns from a single winning bet.
Can I Place a Lucky 15 with Five or Six Selections?
A Lucky 15 requires exactly four selections.
If you want to place a bet with five or six selections, you can opt for a Lucky 31 or Lucky 63, respectively, which are both available with the top online bookmakers.
However, Lucky 31 and Lucky 63 bets are less popular than a Lucky 15 as they require either a reduced unit stake or an increased total stake.
For example, a Lucky 31 with a £1 stake would be £31.
Which is the Best Bookmaker for Lucky 15 bets?
