AFC East Odds: Back the Bills to Come Up Short

It wasn’t that long ago that a lot of people were looking at the Buffalo Bills and thinking they could go unbeaten this season. A great start to the season saw them 4-0 and beating teams with ease.
However, that turned quickly with losses to the Falcons and division rivals, the New England Patriots to have a 4-2 record. Now we have just gone through week ten and the Bills are 6-3 and second in their division.
Last week saw a humiliating loss to the Miami Dolphins by 17 points. The Dolphins have had a tumultuous season with their General Manager getting fired and only winning three games all season.
The Bills are now behind the New England Patriots and its unlikely they will be able to overtake them this season. At 8-2 the Patriots are two games ahead of the Bills and have a favourable schedule ahead of them.
This leaves the Bills in a rare position considering they have won the division the last five years in a row. Now it becomes about making sure they get in the playoffs and win enough games during the season.
Currently in the regular season wins market the over under number for the Bills is 11.5 That means winning six of their remaining eight games to go over that number.
When you look at the team in general, it isn’t performing like a Superbowl winning team. The defence is struggling mightily against the run. They are ranked 30th in the league when it comes to giving up rushing yards.
Only the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals are worse than them. The passing defence is the complete opposite, however. It shows that they can stop teams passing through them, but it also shows that teams don’t need to because they can just rush against them.
The offence is ranked first in the league when it comes to getting the most rushing yards and 12th for passing yards. This indicates that the offence is doing its job and keeping the team competitive.
However, to have one part of your defence be so poor, it will just end badly.
When you look at the Bills schedule, they have got some tough encounters. They have got to travel to the Texans, Steelers, Patriots and Browns. All four have got decent defences.
They also must host the Buccaneers, Bengals, Eagles and Jets. A couple of these teams they should get wins against easily, but the Buccaneers and Eagles are tough matchups.
With the line set at 11.5 the Bills only must lose three games to hit the under. When you look at their schedule you must think that the Texans, Patriots, Buccaneers and Eagles are going to be tough to beat.
