Derek Thompson's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Tips for Sunday the 5th of October

After plenty of wind and rain here in Paris, the going is going to be on the soft for Sundays Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp - the richest race in Europe with over £4,000,000 in prize money.
Andre Fabre the multiple champion trainer of France has won this race an amazing 8 times and the now veteran Chantilly based handler could win it again with Cualificar.
This horse who carries the all blue colours of Godolphin won the Prix Niel at the track last time, he will love the ground and with the trainer boasting a 27% strike rate at the moment looks good value at around 10-1.
Remember all the horses who are running in the Arc are high class animals - none can be discounted, so I always look for a bit of value and Hotazhell at around 80-1 and Arrow Eagle at 100-1 could be good each way.
Hotazhell is a Group 1 winner on soft ground while Arrow Eagle who is trained by the legendary Jean Claude Rouget has won 3 times on soft ground.
The big Group 1 Sprint the Prix de Labbaye looks ultra-competitive but that means good prices and William Haggas runs 2 in the race - Sky Majesty owned by the Brighton Chairman Tony Bloom and First Instinct. Both have got good each way chances.
Irish trainer Pat Twomey is boasting an incredible 33% strike rate at the moment, so his One Look is worth a look in the Prix de l'Opera.
Hollie Doyle could be on a winner on Witness Stand who could trouble the judge in the Prix de la Foret.
