Former World Champion Predicts KO in Tommy Fury vs Eddie Hall Fight

Previewing Tommy Fury vs Eddie Hall, Former World Champion and Freebets.com Boxing expert Anthony Crolla is back with his predictions and best betting offers.
They’re calling this one ‘Beauty and the Beast’ – and that is a pretty good label to put on this. Tommy is a very good-looking lad, and Eddie Hall is, well, a beast! Just don’t tell him I said that.
The fight week events all add to the panto feel of these kinds of shows. And let’s get it right, Misfits boxing is not for everyone. A lot of hardcore fans really get annoyed by fighters who would rather take the money and go down this road.
But the numbers these fights can do is mind-boggling. Just take a look at who has taken the big bucks for a crossover fight. The most obvious one that springs to mind is Anthony Joshua, one of the best heavyweights in the world, who had a fight with the biggest influencer on the planet. The most popular heavyweight boxed the most popular influencer! Why wouldn’t AJ take a fight like that and rake in the dollars?

You also get the big circus. And this is important because all the nonsense you see on the top table at a press conference helps to engage young people - the boys and girls from high school. The numbers back all of this up.
Now, this might be a little bit controversial, and I know it’s up for debate, but I really think these events do get more eyes on boxing, and gyms do get busier as a result. You will get people who will be inspired to have a go, and some will end up being very good at boxing and will compete for an amateur club.
So, there is a small percentage where this works, and young people end up getting involved in ‘proper’ boxing.
Anyway, Tommy Fury is absolutely doing the right thing for his career and, more importantly, his life. A few years ago, there were only two British boxers who had earned more than Tommy, and that was his brother Tyson and Anthony Joshua. The money that Tommy has earned is crazy. His name has been used for clout by the likes of Jake Paul and KSI, and he beat them both in very close fights. He’s cashed in on this.
Tommy could never earn a fraction of that kind of money if he went down the traditional boxing route. There is no shame in this, but Tommy wouldn’t win an area title! He has had a few pro fights and beaten a few journeymen, but this opportunity is much better for him.
Eddie is a raw novice, but he has improved. When you start training as a novice, it is impossible not to improve. But it is still a big ask for Eddie. Tommy is not a small guy himself, and I think he’ll just be too mobile for Eddie.
Eddie Hall is not built like a boxer. Tommy isn’t built like a boxer either to be honest! But Eddie is very big, and a lot of that weight is too much. He won’t be light-footed in the ring. If he is, it won’t be for long. The bigger one is not always going to win.
Tommy will poke and poke and keep moving, walking Eddie on to shots and in the end, he will bust Eddie up. Tommy gets the win and picks up another nice payday!
I think Eddie, towards the latter part of the fight, will be gassed, and he’ll end up taking a few too many shots. The referee or the corner will do the right thing. So, I’m going for Tommy Fury to win by stoppage in the final few rounds of the fight.
There are a couple of interesting bouts on the undercard as well. Jade Jones taking on Federikita is one which caught my eye. I’ve watched Jade train close up, and she’s now working with my good mate Stephen Smith.
Jade has come from combat sports and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Taekwondo, so she might be a bit too good at this level. You could probably make a really good professional boxer out of Jade, and I think she ends this fight early via stoppage.
Another potential cracker is Anthony Taylor against Matty Floyd. Anthony gave a good account of himself when he boxed Tommy Fury, and Matty gave James DeGale a very tough night in a bare-knuckle fight. They’re both fighting men, but given his showing against DeGale, I’m going for a points win for the tough Aussie.
