Now is the time to back the Chiefs

After a slow start to the season, the Chiefs are on the move, with UK betting sites cutting the odds on Andy Reid's team topping the AFC West.
Free Bets NFL expert Adam Martin takes a closer look at why now is the time to back the Chiefs.
It wasnโt that long ago that everyone was saying that the Chiefs dynasty was over for good. After losing their first two games to the Chargers and Eagles they were 0-2 and their division rivals were 2-0.
The fact is that we have now just seen week six of the season and the Chiefs are 3-3. They still sit third in their division behind the Chargers and Broncos who are both at 4-2.
However, things are looking much better for the Chiefs then they were. After them two early losses we heard that the defence wasnโt as good as it was before. That Travis Kelce was past it and that they had no run game.
Although you can still see that the Chiefs are not as fluent as they were a few years ago they are still a Superbowl contender. They have beaten the Giants, Ravens and Lions and lost a tight encounter away at the Jaguars since week two.
Despite still being a game behind the Chargers and Broncos now is the time to put your money down and back the Chiefs. They currently sit at 11/8 favourites to win the AFC West with Paddy Power.
Getting a team who has had Superbowl winning experience to win their division at that price doesnโt come around very often. On top of that there are good reasons to back them.
The Broncos looked awful offensively away to the Jets in London last Sunday. They got the win because the Jets were worse. Against many other opponents they would have lost that game.
Obviously, that doesnโt mean that the Broncos are going to fall away now but they still must play the Chiefs twice. On top of that they must go up against teams like the Commanders and Packers who will be tough to beat.
Then you have the Chargers. A team that has been ravished by injuries. Losing both of their two main offensive linemen in Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt is hitting them hard. Main running backs Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton are both out currently as well.
Again, this doesnโt mean they will just slide away from contention, but it does make things harder for them. Their schedule is no joke as well having to face the likes of the Eagles, Steelers, Colts, Broncos and the Chiefs.
So, the opposition have problems, but the other main issue is that the Chiefs are getting better. Xavier Worthy is back from injury and Travis Kelce is starting to look better. Also, their main wide receiver, Rashee Rice, is back from his six-game suspension next week.
Beating the Lions on Sunday Night Football is a huge statement to make and could be the catalyst for a big run by the Chiefs. They have a Raiders team who are 2-4 next and then the Commanders at home.
Itโs still going to be tough for the Chiefs to win this division as they have strong competition. However, if you were ever going to back them, now is the time to get them at a decent price.
