England are safely through after Harry Kane's double inspired a 2-1 comeback win over DR Congo, setting up a blockbuster last-16 clash with co-hosts Mexico at the Estadio Azteca.
All three host nations - Mexico, USA and Canada - have reached the knockout stage, while Germany and the Netherlands suffered surprise penalty shootout exits in the Round of 32.
Last 16 Fixtures World Cup
Wondering who is in the last 16 of the World Cup? Check out all the fixtures below.
Canada vs Morocco - Saturday 4 July, 6pm (Houston)
Co-hosts Canada edged South Africa 1-0 to reach the last 16, but face a Morocco side full of confidence after knocking out the Netherlands on penalties. The 2022 semi-finalists start as favourites.
Paraguay vs France - Saturday 4 July, 10pm (Philadelphia)
Tournament favourites France thrashed Sweden 3-0 and look ominous, with Kylian Mbappe tied on six goals at the top of the scoring charts. Paraguay stunned Germany on penalties but have it all to do here.
Brazil vs Norway - Sunday 5 July, 9pm (New Jersey)
Brazil needed a 95th-minute winner to see off Japan, while Norway rely on the goals of Erling Haaland, who struck late to beat Ivory Coast. Brazil are favoured, but Haaland makes Norway dangerous.
Mexico vs England - Monday 6 July, 1am (Mexico City)
The pick of the ties for England fans. Gareth Southgate's successor Thomas Tuchel guided England to top spot in Group L, but a trip to the Estadio Azteca means altitude, a hostile crowd and a Mexico side yet to concede all tournament. England are favourites but far from home and dry, especially with a right-back crisis after injuries to Reece James and Jarell Quansah.
Portugal vs Spain - Monday 6 July, 8pm (Dallas)
A blockbuster. European champions Spain brushed aside Austria 3-0, with Lamine Yamal back to his best, while Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal edged Croatia late. Spain go in as favourites in a genuine heavyweight clash.
USA vs Belgium - Tuesday 7 July, 1am (Seattle)
Co-hosts USA won all their group games but lost leading scorer Folarin Balogun to suspension after his red card against Bosnia. Belgium come off a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Senegal and this one looks a coin flip.
Switzerland vs Colombia or Ghana - Tuesday 7 July, 9pm (Vancouver)
Switzerland beat Algeria 2-0 for a first knockout win since 1938 and await the winner of Colombia vs Ghana. Colombia are strongly fancied to come through and set up a tricky tie.
Argentina or Cape Verde vs Australia or Egypt - Tuesday 7 July, 5pm (Atlanta)
The final Last 16 slot depends on 3 July's results. Holders Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, are huge favourites to book their place, with Egypt and Mohamed Salah fancied to join them.
World Cup 2026 - Route to the Final
The draw splits into two halves.
In the top half, the winners of Paraguay vs France and Canada vs Morocco meet in the quarter-finals (9 July), as do the winners of Spain vs Portugal and USA vs Belgium (10 July).
In the bottom half, Brazil vs Norway feeds into a quarter-final against the Mexico vs England winner (11 July), while the Argentina tie meets the Switzerland tie in the other (11 July).
That puts England on a potential collision course with Brazil in the last eight, Argentina in the semis, and a mouth-watering final against Spain - a repeat of Euro 2024.
The semi-finals take place on 14 and 15 July, with the final at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, 19 July.

World Cup 2026 Outright Odds
France have tightened their grip as favourites at 15/8 after a commanding group stage and that Sweden win.
Holders Argentina are next at 4/1, with Spain and England both around 8/1, ahead of Brazil and a resurgent Portugal.
Hosts Mexico, plus Morocco and Colombia, head the outsiders for anyone chasing a bigger price. Kane's brace against DR Congo also shortened him in the Golden Boot market, where he's now chasing Mbappe and Messi.
