Despite four winning naps out of six (4/1, 9/4, 2/1 and 6/4 (10p R4) we ended the week with just a small profit of +£2.35.
This week's action heads to Town Moor for Doncaster’s St Leger meeting which gets underway on Thursday, while over in Ireland it is Champions weekend at Leopardstown (Saturday) and the Curragh (Sunday).

Alan Kelly's Tips - Monday, 14 September
On a quiet start to the week, we head to the national hunt card at Sedgefield for Monday's horse racing selections.
3:00pm Sedgefield - Uncle Al
Sam England’s Jeteye heads the weights for this extended 3m 2f handicap chase, the mount of Jonathan England last seen finishing second over today’s course and distance just over two weeks ago as the 9/4 market leader.
The nine-year-old can often hit a flat spot in his races, as was the case on his most recent start when staying-on to grab the runner-up spot without ever threatening to trouble the winner Getaway Vic. As is usually the case, the Jessica Bedi-trained UNCLE AL was held up towards the rear in that race, prior to unseating his rider at the 9th fence, having been supported into 7/2 from 5/1.
The seven-year-old was still to be asked a serious question on that occasion, and off a mark 2lb lower than when winning on this course towards the end of last year, Uncle Al is fancied to come out on top with conditions to suit. The mount of Paul O’Brien (only ride on the card) won a four-runner affair at Huntingdon back in May off today’s mark, a victory put down to the good to firm conditions by connections.
Bottom weight Bahtiyar is now on a losing streak of 39, likely to be 40 following today’s race, while Gillian Boanas’ Crough Patrick has been struggling to find his form since leaving Sam England's stable, which leaves Mickey Hammond’s Carlisle winner of two months ago Aill Dubh as the other one to consider, although the Shantou gelding is unproven over this kind of trip.
Recommendation: Uncle Al - 5/1 with bet365
4:00pm Sedgefield - Roadshow (Each-Way)
This is a re-match of a race run over today’s course and distance 17 days ago in which Sam England’s heavily-supported William Yeats justified 5/4 favouritism by beating fellow rival Aimeric, who was making his handicap debut for trainer Jennie Candlish, by a length and a half.
The Frankel gelding, a winner 5 times on the Flat, meets Jonathan England’s mount on 2lb better terms today, which should make things interesting between the two horses likely to feature at the head of the betting (no odds available as I write).
On that same Sedgefield card, Adam Nicols’ Tracker Issue, on his third start over hurdles, finished a promising second in a novices’ hurdle and now makes his handicap debut off a mark of 100. Any market move for Ryan Mania’s mount would be significant, but if the prices allow I will back Paul Nicholls’ runner ROADSHOW (Each-Way).
The Galileo gelding won a conditional jockeys’ handicap on this course last September, beating a horse, Captain Cool, who has won on 6 occasions since then and is rated 116 over hurdles and 131 over fences. As was the case on that occasion, 5lb claimer Freddie Keighley is in the saddle once again and running off the same mark.
While Roadshow has been beaten in three subsequent races, the Ditcheat runner will appreciate today’s ground (good, good to firm in places), and if able to reproduce his previous effort on the course, would have a great chance.
Recommendation: Roadshow (Each-Way) - 12/1 with bet365 (3 places)
4:30pm Sedgefield - Littletown Lad (Nap)
Trainer Sam England has some excellent chances at the County Durham racecourse this afternoon, her best chance possibly that of LITTLETOWN LAD (Nap) in the finale.
The six-year-old has been brought along gradually and has shown significant improvement on his last two starts, first of all when running a hot favourite of Dan Skelton's close at Uttoxeter before getting off the mark with a comfortable victory here at the end of last month.
Despite a rise of 5lb, I will be disappointed if Littletown Lad is unable to confirm the form with the second and third horses home on that occasion, top weight Character Testing and Expert Analysis.
Recommendation: Littletown Lad (Nap) - 13/8 with bet365
