Chris Rivers

Professional background

Chris has been working in sports media and betting for over 20 years, tackling a wide range of challenges for both bookmakers and national media outlets.

He was previously betting correspondent for the Racing Post, covering football, rugby, the NFL and Formula 1, and has written for publications including Goal.com and Motor Sport Magazine.

Away from the page, Chris has provided match commentary for Hull City, presented NFL betting tips for RPGTV, voiced and edited sporting highlights for ITN, and hosted a football betting show in Nigeria.

Moving to Gambling.com in 2023, Chris has put his experience to good use on a service of betting and casino products in an attempt to steer punters in the right direction.

Expertise and contributions

Chris prides himself on producing informative and entertaining tipping pieces for his four chosen sports. Always happy to dig deep in the stats to find a different angle and, hopefully, unearth some value bets.

Personal interests

In his own words: โ€œYou donโ€™t get into this business without a passion for sport and it takes up a large chunk of my personal life. Iโ€™m a keen but ageing amateur footballer and runner thatโ€™s slowly transitioning to coaching, qualifying as a Uefa-licensed coach in 2025. Iโ€™m currently trying to put those skills to good use as the coach of my sonโ€™s grassroots football team.

When not standing on a touchline, I try to get to Arsenal as much as I can, but failing that Iโ€™m happy to watch any sport, particularly live. One of life's great joys is going to a new ground and exploring the surrounding areas, even if not all the experiences have been totally positive ones!โ€
