Darts fans will be fully focused on the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam this weekend as 32 of the world's best battle it out.

Luke Littler is the defending champion, and he's unsurprisingly the favourite at the betting sites heading into this year's tournament.

Free Bets darts expert Lewis Watson takes a closer look at the competition and the runners and riders.

Overview

After an unmissable tour around the globe, the World Series of Darts concludes in Amsterdam this weekend with a fitting finale in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The stars of the PDC have clocked up the air miles travelling to Bahrain, Den Bosch, Copenhagen, New York, Gliwice, Wollongong and Auckland before unpacking their suitcases in the Dutch capital.

There have been limited shocks this season across the seven preceding events. Local challengers have failed to land notable gloves on the PDC’s top stars, seeing Stephen Bunting (2), Luke Littler (2), Luke Humphries, Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price pick up the titles and sizable prize money.

There have been some memorable performances en route to this point.

Gerwyn Price (115.31 in Bahrain), Luke Littler (115.02 in New Zealand) and Stephen Bunting (111.33 in Bahrain) have chalked up some monster match averages, and will be looking to repeat this feat inside the AFAS Arena.

Luke Littler arrives in Amsterdam as the reigning champion following a 11-4 win over Michael Smith in last year’s final.

Top Seeds

We take a closer look at the top seeds for the 2025 World Series of Darts Finals.

Stephen Bunting (1)

Following titles in Bahrain and Copenhagen, the “Bullet” Bunting arrives in Amsterdam as the top seed and therefore a target on his back.

The St. Helens man is up to number four in the world following a successful 18 months on tour and will be targeting a second PDC TV major title following a win at the 2024 World Masters.

Bunting sits at the top of the draw bracket and has been served up a nightmare opener in the form of Dutch talent Danny Noppert. The “Freeze” is no stranger to these televised majors, scooping the 2022 UK Open and running to five semi-finals since.

Bunting could also run into the red-hot Josh Rock in the second round.

Luke Littler (2)

Scooping titles at the last two World Series of Darts events in Wollongong and Auckland, you’d be a brave punter to back against the reigning world champion Luke Littler.

“The Nuke” is barely putting a foot - or dart - wrong on the tour at the moment, and will be targeting the WDOD Finals trophy as another piece of silverware to add to his growing collection - it would also mark the first major PDC title that the teenager would have successfully defended.

Littler averaged three-figures in 11 matches across the seven events, unmatched by anyone else, and strengthened his case as the dominant force in darts in 2025.

Littler has been paired up with Australia’s veteran Simon Whitlock in the opening round, and could well face Wales’ Jonny Clayton in round two.

Gerwyn Price (3)

Two-time winner of this event (2020, 2022), world number nine Gerwyn Price will arrive in Amsterdam confident of making a trio of WSoD Finals crowns.

The Welshman is a Premier League semi-finalist and a World Cup runner-up already in 2025, and with wins in Poland and at the Baltic Sea Darts Open is regularly finding himself in the winner’s circle.

Price will fancy his chances in the bottom segment of the draw.

Chris Dobey (6) is the only ranked player he might have to navigate a route past in order to reach the semi-finals, where Luke Littler will likely be waiting for the 40-year-old.

Price has been eliminated at the second round for the past two seasons at the WSoD Finals, but is playing well and consistently enough to bring that poor run to an end.

Luke Humphries (4)

Along with the European Championship and UK Open, the World Series of Darts Finals is a trophy that the world number one, Luke Humphries, doesn’t have in his trophy cabinet.

”Cool Hand” has only contested this event twice, falling at the semi-final and quarter-final stages in disappointing circumstances.

He has been paired up with serial spoiler James Wade in the opening round and will be wary of the “Machine’s” pedigree in these televised events.

A Dutchman - either Kevin Doets or Jermaine Wattimena - awaits Humphries in the second round, with Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen or Wessel Nijman possible at the quarter-final stages. A tricky segment for the 39-year-old to navigate.

Rob Cross (5)

“Voltage” Rob Cross is a finalist from the 2020 World Series of Darts Finals, and is one of those players on the tour always capable of running deep in tournaments.

He won the Dutch Darts Masters earlier on this year - hence his lofty seeding - but is often criticised for his recent drought in televised majors: across his last 30 ranking event appearances, Cross has reached just three finals (losing all three) and one semi-final.

He has landed in one of the toughest segments of the draw in Amsterdam - he’ll have to get past either MVG or Humphries - potentially both - if he is to reach the last four.
