Anthony Joshua v Jake Paul: Former World Champion Makes Big Prediction

It’s fight week in Miami and it looks like Anthony Joshua actually is going to fight Jake Paul on Friday night. I didn’t think it would really happen.
Let’s not mess about here, this is right up there with the craziest fight that’s ever been made in boxing history. Possibly the craziest. This is a former YouTuber who’s boxed one active professional in Tommy Fury – who he lost to.
He’s also been in the ring with Mike Tyson – a man approaching 60 who had retired decades ago! His last fight was against Julio Chavez in June, but that is no preparation for this contest at the Kaseya Centre.
Joshua is an Olympic gold medallist and two-time heavyweight champion. Yes, he had a bad night against Daniel Dubois last time out, but there are levels to the game.

What I will say about Jake Paul, is that he is improving. He’s been in camp with Lawrence Okolie who said to me that he trains as hard as any professional he’s ever seen. If Jake was to fight Tommy Fury again, I’d have him as favourite. He is much improved, but there’s a huge difference between Tommy and Anthony Joshua.
There is a chance Jake could get really hurt. He’s a novice who is fighting one of the biggest punchers in the heavyweight division.
Anthony Joshua Jake Paul Fight Prediction
In terms of how this fight plays out, I think Joshua will come out and throw a few feints and Paul, no matter hard he’s trained, will tire very quickly reacting to feints. I think it will quickly dawn on him that he’s in with one of the biggest punchers in world boxing. I think the first jab he feels, he’s going to think, ‘oh my days! What’s going on here?’
My worry is, Paul is going to go in there and try to win and in doing so, Joshua will clip him over the top and put him over. I think it’ll be early. I’ll be absolutely shocked if this goes into the third round. I believe it will be all over within two. I reckon if Joshua wants to do sooner, he can do, but I think he’ll have a look about, have a move and might want to feel Jake’s shots on his gloves.
I think it’ll be early. I’ll be absolutely shocked if this goes into the third round. I believe it will be all over within two
But there are so many things that make it must-watch. It is just pure and utter madness! In football terms, this isn’t Accrington Stanley playing PSG, this is the Red Lion or the Dog and Duck playing PSG. I’m not exaggerating there either.
Not only is this one of the craziest boxing match ups, it’s probably going to do the biggest numbers. Madness sells, and that’s what’s happened here. It’s on Netflix and it is going to be one of the most watched boxing events in history!
People will say, ‘is it bad for boxing?’ Well, Jake Paul has done a lot of good for boxing. He has done great things for the women’s side of the game, but not just that, I think there’s a great chance we see his MVP promotions coming to Sky Sports next year.
Boxing badly needs Sky Sports to get behind it, so this could be a really positive development. The sport has suffered in the UK as Sky hasn’t been behind it as much in recent years.
So, as much as I think this is madness, it’s got everyone talking about the sport of boxing. And let’s get it right, there are worse characters than Jake Paul involved in boxing. At the minute, the fight game has a huge problem with drugs – with world champions testing positive for drugs. That sheds a much worse light on the sport than Jake Paul fighting one of the best heavyweights.
