Who wins the Super Bowl?

NFC Conference

Itโ€™s hard to look past the Philadelphia Eagles making their way back to the Superbowl after they lifted the Lombardi last season. The Eagles have lost some big names on the defence, but they have replaced reasonably well. The offence is still very strong and another big season from Saquon Barkley looks likely.

There are a couple of NFC North teams who will be fighting them all the way in the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. The Lions still look like a great team who suffered so many injures last season. Now they are fully fit and with star man Aidan Hutchinson back they should push for a Super Bowl appearance.

The Green Bay Packers had a solid squad anyway but have really bolstered the defence with a big trade for Micah Parsons. The former Dallas Cowboys edge rusher is one of the best in the league and elevates the Packers defence to a top five one. The offence can put up plenty of points and they are now a Superbowl contender.

A couple more teams who are hotly tipped are in the NFC West, with the San Francisco 49ers and LA Rams. The 49ers feel an odd choice now given the number of injuries that they keep getting. They also lost a lot of their defensive talent during free agency and thatโ€™s going to be tough to overcome. The one silver lining for them is that they have the easiest schedule this season.

The LA Rams are a strong contender in the NFC this season. They made it to the playoffs last season, and they look like they have improved this offseason. The arrival of Davante Adams will boost the offence and he and Puka Nacua will be a great combination at wide receiver. One concern is quarterback Matthew Staffords health. He has been dealing with a back injury all offseason and it will depend on if he can put that behind him.

A couple more teams that are in with a chance of getting to the Superbowl are the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Vikings have got a solid defence and great offensive weapons. However, a lot of it will come down to how well JJ McCarthy does at quarterback. The former Michigan guy missed all his rookie season through injury and so he is a bit of an unknown.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers should win their division comfortably and so a playoff spot. They have a decent defence and some good offensive weapons who could cause teamโ€™s trouble. They are a bit of a longer shot to make the Superbowl then the other teams mentioned but they could surprise.

AFC Conference

The Kansas City Chiefs got to the Superbowl last season from the AFC conference. They still look like a top tier team and always will have a chance with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. Their defence is still one of the best in the league and they have great offensive weapons. Getting back to the Superbowl wouldnโ€™t be a shock.

However, there are two teams that are shorter odds in the AFC to win the Superbowl. The Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills are currently 13/2 to win the whole thing. The Ravens looked great last season but couldnโ€™t get past the Bills. The defence looks a touch weaker this season, but the offence is still strong. Expect star running back Derrick Henry to have another big year.

The Bills are in a similar situation to the Ravens in respect that they just canโ€™t get over the line. All the time Josh Allen is their quarterback then they have a good chance of winning, but they just canโ€™t get past the Chiefs. They are still a strong team, and they are more than capable of winning the Superbowl. Both the Ravens and Bills must finally make a Superbowl at some stage.

Two more teams in the AFC West are potential contenders as well in the LA Chargers and Denver Broncos. Both made the playoffs last year and both could improve this year. The Chargers are built on a strong defence and a solid run game. Omarion Hampton should have a strong rookie year, and they do have a chance of going all the way.

The Broncos are like the Chargers given their strong defence and good run game. Defensively there are not many stronger teams than the Broncos. Also quarterback, Bo Nix should take a step forward after a good rookie year. The offence might not have amazing weapons, but they will be a force in a strong AFC West.

A few more potential candidates are the Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals have one of the most exciting offences in the league with Joe Burrow, Jaโ€™Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. However, their defence is still poor and getting to the Superbowl will be tough.

The Texans should win the AFC South comfortably this season, but they need to improve from last year. Defensively they are strong but offensively they were not great last season, and Joe Mixon is already missing time going into the season. The Steelers have gone all-in with veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Their defence is still great but how much the offence will do is up for debate. They still feel like a team that wonโ€™t get far in the playoffs.

Whatโ€™s the Superbowl matchup?

There are some good teams that can make it to the Superbowl this year and plenty of options in both the AFC and NFC. The Eagles and Chiefs are strong contenders to get back there however we will see some new finalists this year. The Bills have been knocking on the door for a few years now and this season will finally be their turn.

The Rams are another team that has been in the playoffs over the past few years, and they can make a big push this season. They have arguably the best defensive front seven in the league and Jared Verse should be great. They do have a bit of a weakness at cornerback, but they are still alright there. The offence is strong, and they do matchup well against the Eagles if they meet them in the playoffs. Stafford is reported to be fit and he has the experience to get them to the Superbowl.
