Darts Tips: World Championship Day 5 Monday Predictions & Odds

It may be a new week at the darts but the Ally Pally doesnโt have those dreaded Monday blues.
After a thrilling weekend of action inside the historic North London venue, weโve got another tasty selection of first round ties to tuck into as we continue racing through the draw bracket.
Darts Tips: World Championship Day 5
Popular names such as Peter Wright, Jonny Clayton and Dirk van Duijvenbode take to the oche on Monday all looking to avoid slipping on potential banana skins.
Letโs take a look at my betting tips for Day 5 of the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship:
Tip 1: Peter Wright โ Highest checkout, most 100+ checkouts and first 180 of match vs Noa-Lynn van Leuven at 15/8 with bet365
By his own lofty standards, this has been one of the toughest seasons Peter Wright has endured in more than a decade, and the colourful Scot will be hoping the Alexandra Palace stage can help reignite some long-lost spark this December.
Wright reached the quarter-finals at last yearโs World Championship, but the months that followed proved unforgiving. For the first time in 12 years, he was left out of the Premier League, underlining just how difficult the campaign has been.
He may draw confidence from his run at Ally Pally 12 months ago, when he produced one of the shocks of the tournament by knocking out reigning champion Luke Humphries on his way to the last eight. Replicating anything close to that form will require a significant lift.
Standing opposite him is Noa-Lynn van Leuven, who made history last year as the first transgender player to compete at the PDC World Darts Championship.
Van Leuven was beaten 3-1 by Kevin Doets on that occasion and endured a challenging start to the year.
She arrives at Ally Pally as a clear outsider, and even with Peter Wrightโs well-documented struggles, itโs difficult to construct a strong argument in her favour.
Tip 2: Dirk van Duijvenbode 3-0 vs Andy Baetens at 12/5 with bet365
Dirk van Duijvenbode begins his PDC World Championship campaign looking to rediscover some momentum on the Alexandra Palace stage.
The 33-year-old Dutchman reached the quarter-finals back in 2021, where his run was ended by Gary Anderson, and he has produced several strong performances at this tournament over the years. However, his form has tailed off somewhat during 2025, placing a degree of pressure on his shoulders despite still sitting at world No. 29.
Van Duijvenbode opens against Andy Baetens โ a former WDF world champion, Baetens booked his Ally Pally debut via the Netherlands and Belgium qualifier and will relish the opportunity to face a familiar rival on the sportโs biggest stage.
Baetens can draw confidence from having beaten Van Duijvenbode at the 2020 Dutch Open, and the added edge of a cross-border matchup should sharpen his focus.
Still, even with Van Duijvenbode short of peak form, itโs difficult to see an upset here, with 3-0 looking good.
Tip 3: Jonny Clayton 3-1 Adam Lipscombe at 11/5 with bet365
The Welsh No. 1 Jonny Clayton has never really got up and running at the World Championship.
His best run is a quarter-final appearance in 2023, meaning that he has gone further in every other televised major except the Grand Slam of Darts where he was also a quarter-finalist.
The โFerretโ has reached three major semi-finals and two finals this season and comes to the Worlds in solid form, looking to leapfrog Adam Lipscombe at a canter.
Lipscombe is making his debut at the Ally Pally after a decent breakout year on the tour โ one in which saw him compete in a Players Championship final and reach the UK Open fourth round.
Lipscombe is playing well enough to grab a well-deserved set against Clayton.
