At 6/4 with bet365, Danny Noppert was always a good pick to beat Michael van Gerwen.
“The Freeze” is turning into a real big-time player who saves his best stuff for the biggest occasions, and we’d be shocked if he didn’t reach the semi-finals here in style.
That’s not to say Lukas Wenig isn’t playing well this week. The German lost 5-4 to Noppert in the group stages but will have to average higher than 89 in this race to 16 legs.
Noppert has already reached semi-finals at the World Masters, Grand Prix, European Championships and World Cup of Darts this season — expect that run to continue as he goes deep in Wolverhampton.

He steamrolled the talented Wessel Nijman in the second round and has his eyes on punching the No.1 world ranking from Luke Humphries this week.
Josh Rock is up next for “The Nuke” — a player he has beaten on both occasions he has faced him.
“Rocky” is having a super 2025 having reached the semi-finals at the UK Open and World Matchplay — not to forget his World Cup of Darts victory — but you need more than a bit of good form to get past Littler in the long format matches.
Rock averaged just 90 as he squeezed past Connor Scutt 10-9 in the second round, underlining his soft belly in some of these high-pressured matches.
Littler shouldn’t have any problems sweeping past Rock on Saturday, posting some big numbers in the process.
