NFL Tips: Sunday Acca Week 18 - Five Predictions for January 4

We had another crazy week in the NFL in week 17 and now we are going into the final week of the regular season.
Most of the playoff spots have already been confirmed but we do have some massive games to look forward to.
NFL Tips: Sunday January 4 Acca
The Buccaneers and the Panthers played out a vital game on Saturday evening and then this Sunday we have got the Steelers taking on the Ravens for the AFC North title.
Whoever wins that game will be in the playoffs and hosting a playoff game next week. However, even though most of the playoff spots are taken, we have got a full schedule for week 18 and hopefully another winner to finish off the regular season.
We have got a five-fold that is at UK betting site Paddy Power for this weekend’s big NFL slate.
Tip 1: Minnesota Vikings -2.5 points vs Green Bay Packers (Alternate handicap market)
It’s been an odd season for the Vikings and one that their fans will largely want to forget. Having been so successful last season to find themselves out of the playoffs this year is a disappointment.
The biggest issue they have had is at the quarterback position and even last week saw the game include a mixture of JJ McCarthy and Max Broshmer. Despite the quarterback inconsistency they have won their last three games.
Now they must host a Green Bay Packers team that has been beaten up by injuries all season. A lot of their top players are out for the season, and it has been about trying to do what that can rather than be at their best.
They have made it to the playoffs but only as the seventh seed. The reason they are in is more about other teams being bad then them being good. In the last three weeks they have lost all three games, and they are expected to rest players for this game.
With the Packers resting all their big names and being down to the bare bones anyway it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Vikings win this one.
Tip 2: Atlanta Falcons to beat the New Orleans Saints (Moneyline market)
Once you reach week 18 it can be hard to find exciting games if there is little to play for. However, this one should be a good watch. The Atlanta Falcons are on the three-game win streak and are clearly still playing hard for their head coach.
With players like Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts the offence should always have a good chance of scoring points. The defence has also been solid this year and they will want to end the season on another win.
The Falcons are not the only team in the NFC South that are on a good run. Their opponents, the New Orleans Saints are also flying now having won four on the bounce.
The Saints have put their trust in rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, and it’s been paying dividends recently. The rookie has shown good form, and the defence is looking good as well. Unfortunately, they have lost Chris Olave for the last game of the season due to injury.
Neither team can make the playoffs, but both will want to win. Expect the Falcons to just be too strong for the Saints in this one.
Tip 3: LA Rams -2.5 points vs Arizona Cardinals (Alternate handicap market)
The Rams have been going through a rough patch over the last two weeks and its no coincidence that it has also been when wide receiver Davante Adams has been injured. The veteran receiver has had a great season, and they will be hoping to get him back as soon as possible.
One good sign for this game and the Rams is that they destroyed the Cardinals when they played them in Arizona earlier this season. Even with Adams likely to miss this game the Rams should have more than enough to win this one.
They are going up against a Cardinals team that have just struggled all season long. Kyler Murray was dropped/injured by head coach Jonathon Gannon and veteran Jacoby Brissett have been solid for them.
The only player on the offence that has come out of this season with any credit is tight end Trey McBride. He has broken the record for most receptions by a tight end in a season and he will probably have another good game here.
The Rams are a much better team than the Cardinals and should win this comfortably.
Tip 4: Chicago Bears to beat the Detroit Lions (Moneyline market)
The Bears have had a great season so far, winning the NFC North and likely to end up being the number two seed in the NFC. This is a season that no one saw coming for the Bears and head coach Ben Johnson must take a lot of credit for it.
They defence hasn’t been amazing but is solid and the offence has plenty of weapons to help get the best out of Caleb Williams. It does feel that their record is slightly inflated due to a lot of one score wins but they deserve to be a playoff team.
Here the Bears are taking on a Lions team that have fallen off in a big way this season. They are 8-8 going into this game and are out of playoff contention. That’s surprising considering how well they have played over the last couple of years.
The Bears are just in a stronger position currently and will want to win to keep their good form going into the playoffs.
Tip 5: Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 points vs Washington Commanders (Alternate handicap market)
The Eagles have won their division comfortably again this season and are looking like a threat to win the Superbowl. The offence has struggled a bit this season, but the defence looks elite.
It’s unlikely that they will rest many players as they will be hoping to jump above the Bears and get the number two seed. Even if they do rest some players, they should have enough to beat a weak Commanders team.
The Commanders are now on to their third quarterback this season with Josh Johnson taking over for the last couple of games. He is limited and so it’s hard to see the Commanders doing much against this defence.
Expect the Eagles to get the win with ease.
