Next Leeds Manager Odds: Marco Rose to Replace Daniel Farke?

November 10, 2025 at 10:48 am GMT+0

Marco Rose has shot to the top of the next Leeds manager odds markets after Daniel Farke came under pressure from supporters following the heavy defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The German has been on shaky ground all season with the Leeds fanbase and a fourth defeat in five matches has left Farke favourite to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League, according to sports betting sites.

Rose, a former Red Bull employee, is the leading contender, and Free Bets have had a little look at who else is in contention in the football betting markets.

Marco Rose

Rose's name came out of nowhere on Monday morning, which can sometimes mean someone knows something, or just that people are putting two and two together.

Considering Rose's history as a Red Bull company man - he has been manager of both RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig - you would lean towards it being the latter, but he is a relatively high-profile name being linked to the job, so he would be in some sort of demand.

Red Bull are one of Leeds' key sponsors and they are in a strategic partnership that means Jurgen Klopp is a figure at play in this process, and as a former Borussia Dortmund manager who played under Klopp at Mainz, you can see the similarities.

However it was Klopp who had to fire Rose from Leipzig, so you can see the complications.

Added to that is the previous experience Leeds had with another Red Bull man, Jesse Marsch, and you can be certain that a similar appointment would not be well received, with the style of play going down like a lead balloon at Elland Road.

Brendan Rodgers

It's hardly a ringing endorsement when your former chairman describes you as "divisive, misleading, and self-serving", but that's what Dermot Desmond said about Rodgers after his quick departure from Celtic last week.

It might not be too hard to read into these words and deduce that Rodgers may have been planning his exit from Celtic Park for a while and would be open to an immediate return to management.

Despite their relegation when he was at Leicester, he broadly did a good job last time in the Premier League and is recognised as a good coach, but it will be interesting to see how this Celtic departure has harmed his reputation.

Quite whether his personality would fit at Elland Road is hard to see, and is he a firefighter of a manager that can come in mid-season and boost a squad that is flagging?

Steven Gerrard

You'd think there would be some sort of protests at Leeds if Gerrard was the man chosen to replace Farke.

There is no personal animosity towards the former England and Liverpool skipper, but his managerial career is less than inspiring.

He did a great job at Rangers in winning the league title in Scotland, but the subsequent move to Aston Villa did not work out well and then the decision to move to Saudi Arabia didn't look good or go well from a managerial perspective.

He turned down the Rangers job - and Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe - recently and said he wanted another crack at top-level management, but any Premier League fanbase would be rightly disappointed if he jumped straight into another top-flight job.

The only bonus that would come from appointing Gerrard would be that former Leeds favourite Gary McAllister would likely come as an assistant, and that could appease some supporters.

Michael Carrick

Can we stick this one down as a non-starter?

As a former Manchester United stalwart, Carrick is almost unemployable at Elland Road, and would immediately have the fans on his back.

He did a decent job at Middlesbrough but the fact he failed to achieve promotion with them should count against him, and it is a surprise that he continues to be linked to Premier League jobs.

A promising young coach yes, but a Premier League manager with only one real job on his CV, and one that didn't quite go to plan? Not for me.
