But this year, all eyes will be on Luke Littler.
The “Nuke” dropped just four sets en route to defending his World Championship a fortnight ago and will head into the 2026 calendar year as a heavy favourite with betting sites to win any tournament he enters.
Luke Littler to win the 2026 Bahrain Darts Masters at 5/6 with bet365
Winning this title in 2024 set Luke Littler on the way to climbing to the summit of the PDC mountain — and he hasn’t looked back since.
A dominant festive period inside London’s Alexandra Palace has only underlined how special Littler is at the oche, and we’re not expecting him to fall apart in Bahrain.
Upsets are gold dust in these early rounds and an opening round tie with Singapore legend Paul Lim won’t cause the youngster any sleepless nights this week, so expect him to canter into the quarter-finals saving some of his best work for the latter rounds.
Luke Humphries and Gian van Veen sit in the bottom half of the draw and will be the biggest threat to the world number one.
Gian van Veen (E/W) to win the 2026 Bahrain Darts Masters at 5/1 with Paddy Power
Gian van Veen is heavily tipped to be Luke Littler’s biggest rival over the next decade.
The Dutchman is only 23 himself, the back-to-back World Youth Champion and the reigning European Championship king — also fresh off reaching his maiden World Championship final earlier this month.
He was blitzed 7-1 by Littler inside the Ally Pally, but the building blocks are there for Van Veen to have a good season on tour now sitting as the world number three.
He’s in the opposite side of the draw to Littler, so an each-way bet on him winning in Bahrain (two places) makes sense at 5/1.
Danny Noppert (E/W) to win the 2026 Bahrain Darts Masters at 12/1 with Paddy Power
If it’s not Littler, Humphries or Van Veen, then world number 10 Danny Noppert is arguably next in line.
Noppert has a knack in going deep in TV tournaments, reaching five major semi-finals in 2025.
He would have been very disappointed in his second round exit at the Worlds to fan-favourite Justin Hood, but Bahrain offers him the perfect opportunity to bounce back into form in short format matches.
The bottom half of the draw is stacked with talent and Noppert will be confident in being the man to make it through to a date with Littler.
