Champions League Tips
Wednesday, April 16
Real Madrid v Arsenal
After how Arsenal have played for the past few weeks, it was frustrating to see them play so well last week against Real Madrid, after backing the Spaniards to win in London.
With a 3-0 lead, Arsenal can be sensible here, they can afford to lose and still go through, and in terms of a game outcome, that's what I expect to happen.
But it's the goal scorer market where I am heading for my wager on the game, I like the chances of Vinicius Junior getting on the scoresheet at 6/4.
Madrid have no option, it needs to be all out attack, and it needs to be from the off. They will surely play better, create more, and score goals this week, it can't be that bad again, can it?
The Gunners will do their best to tie up Kylian Mbappe, I prefer the chances of Vinicius, who will drift around in wide areas, and I think he's capable of finding space and hurting Arsenal, he's my pick to score here.
- TIP - Vinicius Junior Anytime Scorer - 6/4
Inter Milan v Bayern Munich
A big win for Inter Milan in Germany last week gives them the upper hand here, and it also gives them a conundrum. Do they stick with what they've got and play defensive, or go for the kill, and go to win the game?
I think they'll do the former, a strong defensive side, they'll look to cause no problems for themselves, and know a draw here is good enough to see them through.
That's why I'm leaning towards a tight game, with few scoring opportunities, and for that reason, the bet I like in this one is under 2.5 goals.
Yes, Bayern have plenty of attacking talent, but they struggled to break down a dogged Inter last week, and with the crowd behind them here, I think Inter will be even more determined to keep them out.
It probably won't be pretty to watch, but I'll take a tight game and under 2.5 goals.
- TIP - Under 2.5 Goals - 11/10

Aston Villa v PSG
We backed PSG to win & BTTS in the first leg, which was a success for us, and while it's not the same bet here, a similar pattern to the game is expected.
I'm not sure we'll see PSG be quite as attacking, but they're definitely not going to shy away from it, and with Villa having no choice but to go forward, I think gaps will be there to exploit.
With Villa the team that need to attack, and need goals here, I'm not going to focus on PSG winning, instead it's just goals alone for me, and the pick is over 3.5 goals, available at a very fair 13/8.
I think Villa push hard, and score at least one, while I think they'll also leave gaps at the back, and concede at least one. Let's hope it's a goal filled cracker of a game to get us started.
- TIP - Over 3.5 Goals - 13/8
Borussia Dortmund v Barcelona
I was bitterly disappointed with Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of this clash, blown away by Barcelona, but Dortmund didn't really try to attack until they went three goals behind. Had they done that earlier, I think they would definitely have scored, and made the game a little more interesting.
The plan here is a very simple one for them, all out attack from the kick off and hope for a miracle.
Do I think it will happen? No, but I do like their chances of scoring, as they almost did it last week, despite not attacking much for large parts.
But that will bring gaps at the back, this Barcelona front three is electric on the break, and away from home, they're the ideal trio to make teams pay.
I think Barca will win the game, just like last week, but the difference for me this time around is going to be that Dortmund will score in the game, albeit a consolation and nothing more.
- TIP - Barcelona to Win & Both Teams to Score - 6/4

Champions League Tips - Weekly Predictions from Freebets
The Champions League is the highest level of European football, with the elite from the club game battling it out for the continent's most coveted trophy, which makes Champions League betting a huge part of the industry.
With so many games going on at once - and don't forget about the new Champions League format - making Champions League predictions has never been better, with plenty of betting angles and markets at play meaning you can always be sure of finding value in the bookmaker odds.
This is where our team of Champions League tipsters comes in, because we will scour the market for the best odds, enhanced offers and tips to inform our Champions League football tips and give you the best chance of finding a winner - which is what we all care about!
Champions League Betting
If you're here, you probably know all about the UEFA Champions League and its prestige, but how does that translate into Champions League betting and providing predictions?
Well, let's start at the beginning with the new format and how that affects our betting tips.
UEFA made the decision this season to increase the number of teams entering the tournament from 32 to 36, which means an increase in the number of matches from 125 to 189 - plenty of opportunity to pick a few winners!
The whole idea behind creating the new format and changing the group stage of the competition into a league phase consisting of all 36 teams was aimed at improving the chances of the stronger sides in Europe qualifying for the knockout stages, with more matches this year against weaker opposition.
With so many games going on at once - and a lot of them between mismatched opposition - it means we have really good opportunities at creating big accumulators, whether it be goalscorer accas, both teams to score tips, or just picking outright winners, there are plenty of options which should give us some good bookmaker odds.
So the first tip we can give you is always make sure you checkout out the fixture list, because some matchday offer up more mismatches than others, while home advantage is also very important in the Champions League so carefully consider which sides are strongest at home and who travels the best - you will always get better value when betting on an away team.
One of the biggest frustrations with Champions League betting can be when a manager decides to rotate his squad, and name a much weaker side to play the midweek matches. With this in mind, it's important to look at the league games either side of a European fixture, and consider the respective positions of the two sides involved.
For example, Pep Guardiola is more like to rotate his Manchester City squad for a game against RB Leipzig than he is against Barcelona so even though they are huge favourites, the prices could be slightly misleading and betting on individual players is quite a risky strategy. Similarly, if City had a game against Liverpool coming up at the weekend, they might be slightly more reluctant to name a full-strength XI no matter who they are playing, so it's very important to keep up with the fixtures.
The knockout stages can also be really difficult when providing Champions League betting tips, because we are talking about the best sides on the continent coming up against each other. We do our best to provide the best betting tips with no stone left unturned, but the nature of top-level sport means anything could happen on the day, and that's why we all love it!
