The Memorial Tournament Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

There are few tougher assignments on the PGA Tour than taking on Muirfield Village. Jack Nicklaus’ design has earned its reputation as one of the game’s sternest annual tests, demanding precision, patience and quality in every department across four rounds.
While recent alterations have changed parts of the challenge, the identity of the course remains intact. Driving still sets the foundation, but players must also control distance into some of the most demanding green complexes seen all season and recover well when mistakes inevitably come. Thick rough, small bentgrass surfaces and awkward surrounds mean dropped shots can arrive quickly.
With another elite Signature Event field returning to Ohio, the eventual winner will likely need to separate themselves across the board, combining high-level tee-to-green play with a reliable week on the greens.
Our Freebets.com golf expert Ben Smith is here with his golf tips ahead of this week's action in Ohio.

Tip 1: Winner - Tommy Fleetwood (Each-Way)
The missed cut at the PGA Championship came as a surprise for Tommy Fleetwood, but it doesn’t alter the wider view of where his game currently stands.
His campaign has still featured five top 10 finishes from eight regular Tour events and, more importantly, the underlying numbers remain positive. Even at Aronimink, where he went home early, he gained off the tee and wasn’t far away tee to green overall despite a quiet week with the irons.
That leaves plenty of reason for optimism heading to Muirfield Village, where his more recent appearances suggest growing comfort after two early missed cuts long ago. The course rewards measured driving, disciplined approach play and avoiding costly mistakes, all areas Fleetwood has generally handled well this year.
The question is whether he can take enough chances. If the putter has an average week rather than a poor one, he looks overpriced relative to his chances.
Tip 2: Justin Thomas (Each-Way)
Justin Thomas continues to feel closer to another win than the market perhaps gives him credit for. The results have been solid without fully reflecting the quality of his golf, and there have been repeated signs over recent starts that he is moving back towards his highest level.
Last week was another example. He created plenty, struck the ball far better than the finishing position suggested and was left looking for more from the putter rather than searching for answers elsewhere.
There’s also enough encouragement in his Muirfield Village record to think a big week is coming. He’s produced several good performances here over the years and this feels like another opportunity to contend.
Tip 3: Winner - JJ Spaun (Each-Way)
Course history doesn’t do much to sell JJ Spaun this week but there’s a fair argument that he arrives as a different player to the one responsible for those previous results. Since spring his level has risen again, highlighted by another win and a series of high finishes against stronger fields.
More interesting than the previous results is the level he’s bringing into the week. Spaun continues to build rounds through controlled driving and high-quality iron play, two traits that have carried him to some of his best efforts this term. If that recent standard travels to Ohio, he looks capable of producing his best Memorial finish.
Tip 4: Winner - Brian Harman (Each-Way)
Brian Harman’s irons have shown signs of life in recent starts. He gained over five strokes on approach at Colonial, while his putting has turned a corner after a poor start to the year with the flatstick.
What catches the eye here is his work around the greens. Harman has gained strokes in that department in five straight visits to Muirfield Village, a useful trait on a course where scrambling is key.
