Dallas Cowboys +3 (Handicap market)
There has been a serious turnaround in recent weeks for the Dallas Cowboys. They looked like they were out of the playoffs and just floating towards the end of the season.
However, three wins in the last three weeks have shown that they have some fight left in them. They have beaten the Raiders, Eagles and Chiefs and the poor defence looks to be the main reason for this turnaround.
Over the season the Cowboys have averaged 376 yards against them. In the last three games, that has fallen to 312 yards. If they had been like this all season, then they would be hovering around the top ten in the league.
Now they must play a Lions team that is struggling and dealing with significant injuries. Sam LaPorta has gone on injured reserve and top wide receiver Amon-Ra St Brown went down on Thanksgiving. He is likely to miss this game.
The defence is still solid but is giving up more points now than at the beginning of the season. This all points to another tough matchup for the Lions and to be given +3 on the Cowboys feels like the smart play.
George Pickens anytime touchdown scorer
One of the standout wide receivers this year has been George Pickens. The former Steelers player has clearly got a good rapport with Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and it’s unlikely to stop now.
Pickens has had 1,142 receiving yards this season along with eight touchdowns. Despite a good chunk of this happening when CeeDee Lamb was out injured, Pickens is just a big a threat as ever.
Between him and Lamb he is the slightly bigger price and the one to back as he goes up against a Lions defence that you can score on.
Jameson Williams anytime touchdown scorer
The Lions offence has been hit with the injury bug at the worst possible time. Sam LaPorta is currently on injured reserve and Amon-Ra St Brown went down with an injury on Thanksgiving.
This should open many more targets for Jameson Williams. The former Alabama wide receiver has had a solid season so far with 706 yards and six touchdowns.
Although the Cowboys defence has improved it is still liable to giving up points. With the Lions at home and needing to win this game it will mean Williams should be heavily involved.
