Paris Masters Tips, Latest Tennis Betting Odds & Tournament Preview

The final Masters 1000 event of the ATP season takes place in Paris this week at its new venue, La Défense Arena.
Players have spoken positively about the revamped multipurpose venue, with world number one Carlos Alcaraz particularly impressed by the new surface, and here at Free Bets, we can't wait for it!
“It’s totally different from last year,” said the Spaniard. “It’s much slower, but I like it this way. We can see real tennis, with long rallies and not just serves and short points. For me, it’s a really good speed. I’ve always said that I prefer slower courts."
Tournament director Cedric Pioline explained that the aim was to replicate conditions at next month’s ATP Finals in Turin.
"We will have perfect uniformity across the four courts. The goal is to facilitate the players' transition towards the end of the season,” he said.
Paris Masters Tips
My tennis tips for the Paris Masters concentrate on the outright winner, and there's four big priced players below to look out for.
Tip 1: Casper Ruud - 80/1 EW
The slower conditions and parallels with Turin could bring Casper Ruud into the mix. The Norwegian arrives in good form after winning in Stockholm this month and has previously produced good runs at the season-ending showcase, reaching the ATP Finals title match in 2022 and beating Alcaraz en route to the semis last year.
Ruud was among several players to retire from a match last week, retiring in Basel due to an ankle issue. However, he has confirmed his intention to play in Paris, where a big effort could keep his Turin hopes alive. The Norwegian currently sits 11th in the race, 830 points behind Lorenzo Musetti, and will need a deep run to stay in contention.
Tip 2: Corentin Moutet - 150/1 EW
Corentin Moutet has enjoyed a successful indoor hardcourt swing up to now, finishing runner-up to Daniil Medvedev in Almaty before avenging that defeat in Vienna on Thursday.
After a few days off, the Frenchman looks well placed for a good run on home soil, particularly if the slower conditions reported by Alcaraz and Pioline hold true.
His potential path to the quarter-finals includes clashes with Alexander Bublik, who prefers it quicker, and Taylor Fritz, who has faced a demanding schedule and hasn’t been 100 per cent fit.
A French underdog made it to the final last year as Ugo Humbert defied huge odds to deliver a place return. This time around, it could be in-form Moutet’s turn.
Tip 3: Karen Khachanov - 250/1 EW
The current five-match losing streak for Karen Khachanov comes as a surprise, given how close he came to winning the Canadian Open in August and how strong his performances were around this stage of the season last year.
A former champion in Paris and a consistent performer here in recent years, having reached the quarter-finals and semi-finals in his last two appearances, he looks worth a chance at a big price.
The change of venue may not be ideal, but with a lucky loser in his opening match, this could be the opportunity he needs to end his slump and find some momentum.
Tip 4: Learner Tien - 300/1 EW
Finally, a small interest in Learner Tien looks worthwhile off the back of an outstanding Asian swing.
The American’s experience on indoor hard courts at main tour level is limited, but he has shown promise in similar conditions, claiming two Challenger titles indoors and getting to the final of last year’s Next Gen ATP Finals.
He is in the same mini-section as Andrey Rublev who is rebuilding his game, and Ben Shelton who is still working his way back from a shoulder injury sustained at the US Open.
The draw could open up for Tien, at least until the quarter-finals, where Jannik Sinner looms, but the Italian is coming off a final in Vienna on Sunday and may already have an eye on Turin.
