Ruby Bet Review
An online sportsbook that has been part of the furniture for several years, Ruby Bet has snuck under the radar, but that's not to say that it doesn't have a few gems in store (excuse the pun!).
Although it may seem like a no-frills sports betting site, Ruby Bet, which launched in 2019, is part of the Progress Play family. As such, it is easy to draw parallels between this site and other Progress Play brands, including Casino Kings Sports and Fruity King, although with the latter, they have recently had a bit of a revamp.

Nevertheless, Ruby Bet is bursting at the seams with loads of sports to wager on, over 40 to be more precise, but that is the tip of the iceberg. 24/7 in play betting is facilitated to covering thousands of events daily, but more on that later.
Doubling up as a casino and sportsbook, Ruby Bet holds a UK Gambling Commission licence under the account number 39335. Ruby Bet adheres to all the latest SSL protocols including having the latest encryption and firewall technology to protect players online. The site is secured by Sectigo, a company that offers solutions to mitigate risks and challenges betting sites might face.
While Ruby Bet has been recognised for its casino contributions, it hasn't picked up any sports betting-specific awards. Also, Ruby Bet hasn't teamed up with any other companies or sponsored any competitions; however, it has its fingers in many pies.
So, why should you join Ruby Bet? My Ruby Bet review is comprehensive, focusing on the types of sports you can wager on, ongoing betting promotions, and more. Let's dive straight in!
User Experience - My Personal View
A good starting point of this Ruby Bet review is to analyse the UX. Ruby Bet is distinctive with its red and navy colour palette, but Ruby Bet doesn't deviate from its mission of delivering an engaging betting experience.
Split into 'Sport' and 'Live' tabs, this mirrored the Casino Kings approach, and they have tried to peel things back. I could click on 'Popular Competitions', for example, and a handy calendar split things up into events happening over the next week. Ruby Bet has its finger on the pulse, and the odds are displayed in a wide range of formats, including Indo, which was also the case at newer sites such as Puntit.
Customisation-wise, Ruby Bet has a quick bet platform, so you can toggle between odds and fill in betting slips faster. This is quite intuitive, and you can accept higher odds or lower odds per event, putting you in control. However, don't mix this up with Bet Mentors available at other sportsbooks which helps you manage how much you wish to stake or even highlight potential returns.
A favourites feature is thrown in, so I could highlight markets that appeal and return to them at a later date. On that note, I liked the 'My Teams' tab where I could bookmark teams that I wish to follow, offering convenience when settling upon picks.
Ruby Bet has a robust desktop product, judging by the fact the site ran smoothly without technical glitches. There were no dead links, and I found it easier to use than the mobile product which seemed a bit more fiddly; however, this has been addressed in the following subsection.
I do think incorporating a few other features would have given Ruby Bet a lift. I would liked to have seen Price Boosts or Request a Bet offered, as varying things up makes it more appealing for bettors who want to extract more from their wagers.
Early Payout offers, such as the ones seen at Betfred or bet365 (commonly 2UP), are available at Ruby Bet UK, but they aren't given the same fanfare as I would have hoped. At Puntit, players can tap into 1UP offers too, and I think at Ruby Bet, more of an emphasis should be placed on this feature.
Mobile Betting Experience
Ruby Bet UK's desktop product shines brightly (excuse the pun again!), and the mobile site isn't too bad either. However, where the mobile version works differently is that I couldn't pinpoint a search tool to drill down favourite competitions, and there wasn't an A-Z menu of the sports on the left-hand side. It seemed like things were a bit more fiddly navigating to certain parts of the mobile site, and it looked a bit more squashed.
The mobile version does contain many of the same features of the desktop version, and that includes a vibrant live betting area. While I didn't think it was immersive as Virgin Bet's offering, Ruby Bet had a live match tracker detailing key stats, and it does the trick.
Cash Out was also seamless, and I could cash out bets either partially or in their entirety through the desktop or mobile product which was pleasing. Just look for the little green dollar Cash Out action to identify which ones are eligible.
Aesthetically speaking, the mobile website has some good points, but the fact there is no Ruby Bet betting app to speak of was disappointing. Given Ruby Bet has been around for a few years, a betting app seems like a necessity, especially to sate the demands of modern-day bettors who want to wager while on the move with minimal fuss.
It was also puzzling to see a live streaming/video icon displayed on the site when there are no sports available for streaming. Either Ruby Bet should scrap this or plunge into live streaming fully if it wants to be considered a big player. It can't do things half-heartedly!
Ruby Bet Betting Markets & Odds
Punters will be treated to a smorgasbord of sports to wager on at Ruby Bet UK. There are over 40 which surpasses that of other traditional powerhouses such as Paddy Power. At Ruby Bet, this includes virtually every mainstream sport, such as tennis betting and football, through to other niche sporting disciplines, such as Pickleball.
Typically for football, there were over 800 markets advertised across major leagues. The odds displayed at Ruby Bet were decent if not spectacular. The flash markets, in particular, were impressive, and a cornerstone of the operation. Yes, I could wager on everything from what will happen from the first through to the 90th minute, surpassing what I found elsewhere, and some sites, such as BetMGM don't support this.
I also relished the Bet Builder feature which was easy to assemble, but unlike BetVictor, this is only a newish feature created at Ruby Bet. However, there was plenty of scope in terms of lines that could be used, such as corners, cards, total over/under corners, so that was a positive.
While Ruby Bet previously had little involvement with UK horse racing betting, this has changed. Odds plugged for individual meets concentrated on the win and forecast lines, but there were targeted Ruby Bet promotions for horse racing. Among the Ruby Bet offers, included First Past the Post, so you will get paid if your horse crosses the lines first with no ifs or bits, while Extra Places are also paid out, putting it on a near level footing with Betfred. Just don't expect Best Odds Guaranteed for horse racing which has been a pillar of other sites to keep punters occupied.
The swathe of Ruby Bet markets grabbed my attention, and even the outrights ranked well alongside the likes of Puntit. Ruby Bet was on the money for Premier League outrights, covering everything from who will be crowned champion to top assist maker and top goalscorer which should be celebrated.
Ruby Bet Betting Bonuses and Promotions
Ruby Bet UK has taken a very structured approach to promotions. The Ruby Bet offers consist of a mix of free bets, one of which is similar to the Betway deal, as well as regular cashback deals across a myriad of other sports to keep bettors keen.
There is also a bespoke loyalty rewards program. Players can pick up points the more they play, and redeem points amassed in exchange for exclusive offers.
Ruby Bet Welcome Bonus Review โ Bet ยฃ10 and Get a ยฃ20 Free Bet
The Ruby Bet sign-up offer comprises a ยฃ20 free when you deposit at least ยฃ10 with minimum odds of 1.5. Be aware of the 1x wagering requirements connected to this offer, but the beauty of this deal is players can receive up to five free bet bonuses per month.

Currently, there is no promo code for the Ruby Bet sign-up offer, so it will be credited automatically when you set up a new account.

Customer Service at Ruby Bet
Ruby Bet is well versed in customer support. My first port of call was Fin the Bot, an AI-powered assistant, that answered my questions through the live chat facility within seconds. I was immediately put at ease when querying a payment matter.
There is an email option, and apart from an FAQs area, there is a substantial section devoted to betting guidelines, explaining how to place bets on each sport. I think this makes up for a lack of social media presence or not having a phone number.
Responsible Gambling at Ruby Bet
Ruby Bet is deeply committed to responsible gambling, and we've touched on some of the types of tools available to players:
- Deposit Limits - Upon registering an account, players can choose how much they wish to deposit daily or weekly, and this extends to losses.
- Time-Out - Players can remove themselves from the site for a short period of time if they wish to get their gambling habits under control.
- Self-Exclusion - More extreme, players can exclude themselves from the site for up to 12 months, and account blocks can't be reversed.
Ruby Bet has listed some of the sites it works with to offer advice, such as GamCare, but players can also install internet filtering software to prevent them from accessing gambling websites.
As a site monitored by the UK Gambling Commission, Ruby Bet takes the security of its players very seriously, and that includes encrypting financial transactions. Moreover, Ruby Bet is transparent about the type of betting experience it offers players, so they have no illusions when signing up.
My Verdict
All in all, Ruby Bet delivers for the wide range of pre-match and live betting markets stumped up, and the site didn't have any glaring technical deficiencies.
However, I would be doing Ruby Bet a disservice if I overlooked the lack of betting app and live streaming options for players.
Yes, some adjustments should be made, but for bettors looking to dip their toes, Ruby Bet is a decent place to start.
