Mexico vs Ecuador Tips, Predictions & 18/1 Bet Builder

After a manic Monday at the World Cup we move to Tuesday’s action, and a late night feast between South American giants Mexico and Ecuador.
Mexico have been perfect at their joint-host tournament so far winning three from three without conceding a goal, but Ecuador’s famously frugal defence will fancy their chances of frustrating El Tri on home soil.
We head to the Azteca where Mexico have played nine World Cup matches previously, winning five and drawing four. Can they make home advantage count again in this last 32 clash?
Here are our three football betting tips and the best free bet offers ahead of Tuesday evening's clash in Mexico City.
Mexico vs Ecuador Tips
Here are our top three World Cup betting tips and the best free bets ahead of this game.
Tip 1: Match to end in a Draw
Mexico have won 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 so far at this year’s World Cup, boasting the cleanest record of any other nation at the tournament.
But these wins — against South Africa, South Korea and Czechia — haven’t been perfect.
They have looked patchy in spells, even getting booed by home support in the first half of their match against South Korea, and to suggest they will glide past Ecuador is fanciful.
Ecuador arrived at the tournament barely conceding a competitive goal. They conceded just twice in a group where they finished third, but they are better than this placing suggests.
Ecuador have more than enough to frustrate the hosts over 90 minutes, with a draw in regular time the call.
Tip 2: Mexico to win in extra-time
If Ecuador are going to be undone on Wednesday morning, it will be down to their lack of attacking options.
If Mexico keep knocking on the door into extra-time, then don’t be surprised if they finally succumb to the pressure inside the historic Azteca.
They have drawn their last three head-to-head meetings — 0-0, 0-0, 1-1 — so an extra-time winner looks to be priced well.
Tip 3: Raul Jimenez to score, Moises Caicedo to be shown a card & both teams to score
We’re eyeing up the classic protagonists in the Bet Builder here.
Raul Jimenez was rested in the final group game, so will be fit and firing, ready to add to the goal he scored in Mexico’s tournament opener.
Moises Caicedo is Ecuador’s engine and — having watched him for a few seasons at Chelsea now — is never far away from a booking.
Caicedo was cautioned in four games in a row at the back end of Chelsea’s campaign.
Add in a BTTS leg and this one weighs in at 18/1.
