What Happened Last Year?

The 2022 Morgiana Hurdle was the 30th running of the race and was won by State Man, ridden by Paul Townend and trained by Willie Mullins.

The victory was Willie Mullins’ twelfth success in the race, and it was a dominant performance from State Man - winning by five lengths from his stablemate Sharjah.

It was a significant victory for State Man, confirming his status as one of the leading contenders for the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2023, where he would eventually finish 2nd behind Constitution Hill.
