Next Burnley Manager Odds: Steven Gerrard Favourite to Replace Nicky Hayen

Burnley have sacked head coach Nicky Hayen with the club third from bottom in the Championship, following a 4-1 defeat at Lincoln City on Saturday.
Hayen won just one of his 12 league games in charge after being appointed in July, and Burnley have the joint-worst defensive record in the division.
The club said the board "has taken the decision following a disappointing start to the Championship season."
BetVictor and other football betting sites have now opened a market on the next permanent Burnley boss, with Steven Gerrard installed as the 4/1 favourite ahead of Carlos Corberan, Dave Challinor, Rob Edwards and Sean Dyche.

Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard leads the betting and has been linked with Burnley before, when Scott Parker left in April, although the club played down reports of formal talks.
The former Liverpool captain has been without a managerial job since leaving Al-Ettifaq in January 2025.
Recent reports suggest he is open to a return to the Championship, while Wrexham have also been linked with his services.
Gerrard's CV includes a Scottish Premiership title with Rangers and a spell at Aston Villa, which ended in his dismissal in October 2022.
With Burnley three points from safety, the question is whether he would be willing to take on a relegation battle.
Carlos Corberan
Carlos Corberan is second in the betting and available after being sacked by Valencia in September following a winless start to the La Liga season.
He knows the Championship well, having led Huddersfield Town to the 2022 play-off final, where they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest, before taking charge of West Bromwich Albion.
Corberan also worked under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United and had a spell at Olympiacos in 2022.
His Championship experience and current availability make him a notable contender in the market.
Dave Challinor
Dave Challinor has been out of work since leaving Stockport County by mutual consent on 1 June, ending almost five years in charge.
He guided Stockport from the National League to League One and secured third-place finishes in each of his final two seasons, although they lost the play-offs on both occasions, most recently suffering a 4-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers in the final.
Challinor has won seven promotions across spells with Colwyn Bay, AFC Fylde, Hartlepool United and Stockport.
He lacks Championship experience and has also been linked with the Sheffield Wednesday vacancy.
Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche would represent a return to familiar surroundings, having managed Burnley from October 2012 to April 2022.
He secured promotion in 2014, won the Championship title in 2016 and led the club to seventh in the Premier League in 2017/18.
Dyche has been out of work since Nottingham Forest dismissed him in February after 114 days in charge.
He said earlier this month that he was enjoying his break but would consider returning to management.
He has also ruled himself out of a return to Watford, leaving his appetite for another job uncertain.
A Burnley reunion would be a significant move for both parties after nearly a decade together.
Rob Edwards
Rob Edwards is a familiar name to Burnley, having turned down an approach in June after Craig Bellamy changed his mind about taking the job.
Edwards had recently been sacked by Wolves after seven months in charge, during which they managed just three wins from 27 Premier League games and finished bottom.
However, he has Championship experience, having guided Luton Town into the Premier League through the 2023 play-offs and managed Middlesbrough.
Burnley may consider another approach, although Edwards' previous decision to reject the job could prove significant.
Burnley have not yet named a successor.
Their next league game is at home at Turf Moor on Saturday 31 October when they face Portsmouth.
