Dave Allen vs Filip Hrgovic Boxing Tips, Latest Odds & Predictions

Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium hosts a tale of David vs Goliath on Saturday night, as hometown hero Dave Allen attempts to slay the former Olympic bronze medalist Filip Hrgovic.
Allen has curated himself a cult following over the last decade of mixed results inside the boxing ring, building a record of 25-8-2 (20 KOs) and continuing to twist the arm of promoters to land fights well above his pay and talent grade.

Saturday night is another case of this, as Croatian giant Filip Hrgovic heads to the Keepmoat looking to build on his 19-1 (14 KOs) record.
Hrgovic has only lost once as a professional to Daniel Dubois in 2024, but has bested an impressive bunch of top rated heavyweights including Joe Joyce, Zhilei Zhang and David Adelaye.
Dave Allen vs Filip Hrgovic Tips
For Allen, this is another chance as an underdog to rip up the script and produce a Cinderella story in front of his people.
But for Hrgovic? An even bigger chance to boost his name on British shores and edge closer to a world title opportunity.
Let’s take a look at three boxing tips for tonight:
Tip 1: Filip Hrgovic to beat Dave Allen by Decision/Technical Decision at 8/5 with bet365
Dave Allen is a tough, tough man, but he is also extremely limited.
Against Hrgovic — a man with a wealth of amateur experience — Allen is going to have to be punch-perfect, aggressive and durable throughout the contest.
The first two don’t look likely, but considering Hrgovic isn’t one of the division’s biggest punchers, there is a good chance the local fighters hears the final bell.
Allen proved his guts going 12 rounds with Arslenbak Makhmudov last October, and a similar performance is expected in Doncaster with Allen arriving as an even bigger underdog.
If you want to push your returns then Hrgovic with a Unanimous Decision victory at 21/10 is probably worth stretching too.
Allen doesn’t hit cleanly or consistently enough to see him bag enough rounds against someone as skilled as Hrgovic.
Tip 2: Both fighters to be knocked down at 20/1 with bet365
We somehow didn’t land this one in last week’s incredible fight between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley, so we are rolling it again into Allen-Hrgovic on the hope of another heavyweight barnburner.
Hrgovic has been down and cut in his professional career and is by no means indestructible, so even if he is winning every round at a canter there is a chance he gets caught cold with something unexpected if Allen decides to swing for the fences.
Allen has been hurt badly by a number of fighters and will have plenty of demons swirling around his head when the going gets tough, but in front of his home fans will probably refuse to throw in the towel on himself.
Both fighters to touch the canvas at 20/1 is a great punt and always a fun one to root for if you’re watching Saturday night’s fight live!
