Grand Slam of Darts Tips: Day 5 Wednesday Best Bets & Predictions
Lewis Watson
We’re getting into the meat of the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts on Wednesday as the knockouts begin.Sixteen lucky arrowsmiths have made it out of the groups and into a race to 10 legs in the second round.
The big boys are still standing - Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price led the way in the outright betting pre-tournament and all three find themselves through to the next stage.
Let’s take a look at some of the best betting tips for Day 5 of the Grand Slam of Darts:
Grand Slam of Darts Tips: Day 5
Check out our darts tips below for Day 5 of the Grand Slam of Darts.
Tip 1: Luke Woodhouse vs Ricky Evans - Over 16.5 legs
Ricky Evans may have missed the chance to top Group D, but may find himself thankful in the long run to avoid a meeting with the in-form German Martin Schindler.
That’s not to say Luke Woodhouse is a walkover — “Woody” has a 104 average to his name already this week in his second group match against Alexis Toylo and took a maximum six points from his three games.
Evans is known for breathing hot and cold at the oche, and in a race to ten we should see a number of waves in form from “Rapid”.
This is the first time out of the group for both Woodhouse and Evans, so a nip-and-tuck marathon is expected as these two trade blows until the late legs.
Tip 2: Gerwyn Price -3.5 handicap vs Martin Schindler
Three-time winner Gerwyn Price bounced back from an early defeat to Ricky Evans by winning his next two matches, averaging a combined 99 at the oche.
The Welshman enjoys this format and will be licking his lips at the segment he has landed himself in after winning Group D.
As we mentioned previously, Schindler is no mug and is playing well in Wolverhampton this week, but Price has a few gears to move through at the Grand Slam, and if he gets up and running quickly could brush the German aside at a canter.
Price has beaten Schindler 13 times in 19 meetings, and 6/5 with UK betting sites says he can do it again with four legs of wiggle room.
Tip 3: Michael Smith - Highest Checkout vs Chris Dobey
Michael Smith has cut an emotional figure this week as he attempts to regain the form that saw him win this title in 2022.
The former world champion hasn’t averaged above 91 yet this week, which, if repeated, won’t be enough to get past Chris Dobey, but we’re expecting some flashes of brilliance from “Bully Boy”.
Smith is one of the most natural players on the PDC circuit, and if he is offered the opportunity to land some big finishes in this game, then expect him to grab at least one — priced very well at 13/10 with bet365.
