Grand Slam of Darts Tips: Day 6 Thursday Best Bets & Predictions
Lewis Watson
It’s time for the bottom half of the draw to get underway in the knockouts of the Grand Slam of Darts.
This is the dreaded section of the draw - if you’re going to reach the final, you’re going to have to get past the world champion Luke Littler.
Littler’s opponent in the last 16 is no walkover. Wessel Nijman has been tipped for big things in the future, and “The Nuke” will have to play close to his best to fend off the challenge of the Dutchman.
Elsewhere, we’ve got an all-German clash, an all-Dutch clash and an all-20-something-year-old clash between Connor Scutt and Josh Rock.
Let’s take a look at some of the best betting tips for day six of the Grand Slam of Darts:
Grand Slam of Darts Tips: Day 6
Check out our darts tips below for day six of the Grand Slam of Darts.
Tip 1: Lukas Wenig vs Niko Springer - Over 17.5 legs
Niko Springer perfectly illustrated the ups and downs of the Grand Slam of Darts.
The German beat former world champions Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson before losing his third match to Beau Greaves, and Springer may have let slip a weakness.
Springer turned to the crowd in disapproval as he was heckled on double attempts — his reaction of course meaning they doubled down and continued to heckle louder the next time around.
He looked uncomfortable from that moment, lost the match and can expect a similar scenario against compatriot Lukas Wenig.
Wenig also won two group matches, topped Group H and averaged around 90 for his three outings.
We’re not looking to pick a winner here, but expect it to go deep as both players adapt to the big stage and bright TV lights.
Tip 2: Wessel Nijman +3.5 handicap
At just 25 years old, Dutchman Wessel Nijman is being tipped as a future world champion.
Nijman has enjoyed a solid, yet unspectacular first proper season on tour, getting chucked out of the major TV events pretty early, but his experience is growing.
Littler, still 18, will know Nijman’s game well and will expect to be pushed to the limit in this race to 10 legs.
Littler should advance, but giving the Dutchman a head start in the handicap betting allows the opportunity to squeeze some value out of this match-up.
Tip 3: Danny Noppert to beat Michael van Gerwen
Michael van Gerwen isn’t convincing us in 2025.
MVG may well have bagged the World Series of Darts Finals title, but his consistency has gone out of the window, making him look susceptible to defeat in longer format matches.
Danny Noppert isn’t the sort of player “Mighty Mike” will have wanted to be partnered with in the second round.
“The Freeze” has reached four semi-finals this season, is up to number 11 in the world, and at 6/4 is a cracking price to get one over on Van Gerwen.
