Kilmarnock vs St Johnstone - Both teams to score

A win against Motherwell two weeks ago would have given Neil McCann hope that Kilmarnock’s season was turning around. That hasn’t been the case though as they lost the following two games. In those two games they have conceded six and only scored once, losing 3-0 away to Falkirk last weekend then 3-1 away to Dundee midweek.

They are really struggling defensively but they do look decent going forward, as they have done since Neil McCan came in.

St. Johnstone have performed above expectations for everyone so far this season. They have won three, drawn four and lost four but not all of their good performances have resulted in positive results. They haven’t won in the last three after a great away win against Aberdeen but got a solid draw against high-flying Dundee United before having moments against Rangers in the 4-0 defeat.

Midweek they rescued a draw against Motherwell with an injury-time Josh Campbell which could give them a confidence boost.

Both sides are struggling to keep goals out defensively but have strikers in good form in Joe Hugill and Josh Fowler, I wouldn’t be surprised if either had a big say in this game.

Motherwell vs St Mirren - Both teams to score

Motherwell are now six matches without a win and although St. Mirren beat Dundee last weekend they are still on a terrible run after an excellent start to the season.

Both teams look to get the ball on the ground and play football the ‘right way’ but recent weeks have been a struggle to turn that football into results. Motherwell conceded in injury-time against St. Johnstone to draw but that still stopped their run of defeats so could give them confidence.

St. Mirren missed some late chances to beat Hibs midweek but can still take positives from their performance. These two are two of the best in the league in terms of trying to press and play football so this should be a fun game.

I would be very surprised if either team could keep the other out.

Rangers vs Aberdeen - Rangers to score in both halves

Aberdeen have been terrible recently and sit ninth in the table having lost three of their last five and only scoring in one of those games. The Dons fans definitely aren’t happy with Stephen Robinson and have only won three of eleven games so far this season.

They signed some exciting players in the summer in Lewis Smith and Tony Yogane but Robinson has no idea how to use them and the football their churning out is stale and most of the time just crying out for a moment of magic.

That only works for so long but it definitely isn’t working for them currently and a negative result here, which is expected, heaps a lot more pressure on the Northern Irishmen.

Rangers were poor midweek against Hearts despite taking the lead early on. It wasn’t the Rangers that had been on show in recent weeks as they sat back, let Hearts have the ball and lost the physical battle for probably the first time domestically this season.

That being said, Derek McInnes’ side have also won eight out of the last ten and that includes two wins against Celtic and come into this game as heavy favourites. Rangers have scored twelve in the last five and I think they will look to start quickly at Hampden given the situation and form that Aberdeen are in.

Aberdeen shocked Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final in 2025 but I don’t see a shock on the cards here. There’s no tactical nous from Robinson, he seems to just be picking a team and sending them out hoping they are going to turn it around.

Rangers have two strikers in form in Kevin Kelsy and Ryan Naderi with Kim Min-su and Badredine Bouanani also impressing in recent weeks.

Derek McInnes will want a fast start and if Rangers get an early goal I can see this being a horror at Halloween for Aberdeen.

Dunfermline vs Inverness - Both teams to score

This one has the potential to be a good game. Dunfermline have won their last two having drawn the previous three with the previous game being an impressive away victory against high-flying Stenhousemuir.

Inverness have been impressive so far this season and have won four out of the last five with the only loss being a surprise one against Queen’s Park. Interestingly all of those victories were by a 2-0 scoreline meaning that they have scored nine and only conceded two in that aforementioned defeat in the last five, an excellent run.

Inverness are the joint-top scorers in the league this season and Dunfermline have the second best defensive record so something will have to give.

The Pars being at home gives them a slight advantage but only league leaders Partick Thistle have picked up more points than Scott Kellacher’s side in the last five so this will be a tough one for Neil Lennon’s side to come away with all three points.

It's difficult to separate them but I don't think they’ll manage to keep each other out.

Spartans vs Annan - Spartans to win

Spartans haven’t managed to keep up their form from last season but still sit fourth in League Two in the last Play-Off spot. They lost against league leaders Stranraer last time out and have lost three of the last five.

However, Annan sit bottom and have lost their last four and have conceded twelve goals whilst only scoring two in those fixtures. Travelling away to Spartans isn’t the fixture that you want when you’re on a losing streak like that and the home side will be hoping to keep pressure on those at the top.

This should be a comfortable home victory.
