NFL Tips: Sunday Acca Week 17 - Five Predictions for December 28

We were unlucky last week as we hit four out of five again with the Detroit Lions letting us down.
The Lions have fallen away quite significantly compared to last season and a loss at home to the Steelers was unexpected.
NFL Tips: Sunday December 28 Acca
Now we have reached the time of the season where a win can define your season, and a loss can cost people their jobs. By the end of week 17 most teams will know for definite if they are playoff bound or looking to rebuild for next year.
We have got a five-fold that is around 6/1 at UK betting site Paddy Power for this weekend’s big NFL slate.
Tip 1: Cincinnati Bengals to beat the Arizona Cardinals (Moneyline market)
The Bengals have had a season to forget and are going to finish third in the AFC North. They have got a 5-10 record currently and for Joe Burrow and his offence its all about having fun now.
The irony is that will probably help them play well and be able to compete without any pressure. They destroyed the Miami Dolphins last week 45-21 in Miami and another positive performance can be expected here.
Now the Bengals must host an Arizona Cardinals side that are bottom of the NFC West with a 3-11 record. The Cardinals have lost seven in a row now and are being beaten by other teams that are out of playoff contention as well.
Trey McBride has been the only positive in a season to forget for this Cardinals team. The tight end has been the best in his position by a mile this season with 1,098 yards and ten touchdowns.
Expect the Bengals to keep having fun and their offence to blow out the Cardinals.
Tip 2: Jacksonville Jaguars to beat the Indianapolis Colts (Moneyline market)
The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a seriously impressive run of form. They are top of the AFC South and are going to be tough to deal with in the playoffs. Last week saw a great win away to the Denver Broncos showing they can take on anyone.
Trevor Lawrence struggled in the early weeks of the season, but things have turned around now. The quarterback has not just improved his play but has also got more weapons with the arrival of Jakobi Meyers in recent weeks helping.
It’s hard to see the Jaguars losing currently and they have got a divisional rival to take on here in the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have fallen away sharply in recent weeks largely due to injuries.
Daniel Jones and other quarterbacks getting injured has meant a call to veteran Phillip Rivers was needed. The five years retired quarterback clearly has limitations and so a lot is being put on running back Jonathon Taylor.
Expect this Jaguars defence that is good against the run to slow Taylor down and limit what the Colts can do. The Jaguars will keep this great run going.
Tip 3: Las Vegas Raiders to beat the New York Giants (Moneyline market)
The Raiders are another team that have had a season to forget. Sitting bottom of the AFC West with a 2-13 record they have not been able to get anything going all season long.
Pete Carroll has only been head coach for one season but it’s hard to imagine he will be back for another in Vegas. One highlight for them has been tight end Brock Bowers and he is likely to be the difference in this matchup.
Now the Raiders get to play another team that are 2-13 in the New York Giants. The Giants have lost nine games in a row now and a lot of them have been to poor teams out of playoff contention.
The last two weeks have seen them lose to the Commanders and the Vikings who both have had quarterback problems. The Giants currently hold the number one pick for next year’s draft, and it feels like they are doing everything possible to keep it.
In what is likely to be a poor game it feels like the Raiders will just have enough to get the win.
Tip 4: San Francisco 49ers to beat the Chicago Bears (Moneyline market)
The 49ers have had a decent season considering how many injuries they have suffered from. The good thing now is that it feels like they have got a lot of their players back and are playing well.
They have already got themselves a playoff berth, but they will be looking to improve their record and possibly get a better seeding. Christian McCaffery and George Kittle have had good seasons again and you should expect them to play well here.
Now they must face a Chicago Bears team that have also qualified for the playoffs and will be looking to win their division in this game. A big win against the Packers last week was huge for them but this will be another huge test.
Caleb Williams has improved under his new head coach Ben Johnson, and they should be very competitive here. It’s likely that this game will be close but that the 49ers will have enough to get a win at home.
Tip 5: Seattle Seahawks to beat the Carolina Panthers (Moneyline market)
The Seattle Seahawks have the number one seed now and will be looking to keep hold of that going into this game. If they do, then they will be playing at home all the way to the Superbowl.
The whole team has been great this year with the defence and special teams doing well. Sam Darnold has shown that last season wasn’t a fluke at the Vikings and the Seahawks should keep things rolling here.
They will have to take on a solid Carolina Panthers side, but they do have their limitations. Quarterback Bryce Young looked good last week when they beat division rivals the Buccaneers, however, his performances have been hit and miss.
The Panthers still need to keep winning to make sure they win their division, but this game might be one step to far. Expect the Seahawks to get another win and keep hold of that number one seed.
